It's not the same though. My friend has a larger screen sure, but depending on the play location we'd still all be playing under the same monitor. Unless you want to count Online mode in terms of competitiveness. Local Tourneys is still most of where the action happens anyhow.

I'm expecting a character reveal, from the leak or otherwise. I feel like Sakurai won't miss his last chance at generating massive hype. After the 3DS version is out the hype just won't be the same. Still, I'm not getting my hopes up. I just think it's likely.

It releases October 4th here on AUS, so I have the luxury of picking it up without any conflicting commitments. :) Buying it with a friend at around 10AM then we're heading straight to my house for my birthday. XD

Because the Smash 3DS and Smash Wii U are the same game, obviously the 3DS version is going to be some sort of 'beta test', purely because it's going to be released first, nothing else. Any changes found during this period would also be moved to the Wii U because they are changes for the better...
