    Tap Jump gets a bad rap.

    You would use your index finger for jumping, b moves and tilts, use your middle finger for shielding/grabbing, and c-stick for smash attacks and aerials.

    How long did it take you to be able to wavedash L-cancel etc. consistantly

    It took me about 6 months before I was good enough with wavedashing to start integrating it into my play. At the start I practiced it a lot but as it got on I just started trying to do it in games and I got better at it.
