Is Isai really screwed at G3?

Did you even read? The honor system in 2013 where he did not counterpick the Japanese. He most definitely was at a disadvantage as a result. It doesn't invalidate his loss IMO cause that was on him, however.

Is Isai really screwed at G3?

My mistake, but you did say "mark that low tier failure off the list" as a result.

    What controllers are legal?

That's fine, I'm just saying banning input devices because it wasn't the way the game was meant to be played is a weak argument. Nearly every competitive competition's hard ware has evolved in a way that was different than intended. I do think there is maybe an argument for keyboards, but that's...

Is Isai really screwed at G3?

I think you got this after, but he was claiming that Isai's loss at Apex 2013 "doesn't count" because he refused to counterpick Kikoushi (ironically he CP's Moyashi to win the following year, but whatever). Very true. It's a misconception I often point out when people say "64's dying", etc. I...

    What controllers are legal?

So instead of citing facts to back up your opinion, they shouldn't be legal because "it's a joke"? That's not really valid. Also, lol at the game as it was meant to be played argument. If we had done that, we'd still be playing with items on, random stages, etc. The developer isn't always...

    Everdrive 64 for smash 64??

Within the Smash community 19xx has recognition, though. Melee kids and others know 20xx so they know it's a mod right away.

    Wisconsin 64

I'm at UW-Whitewater. I'll try to make it up to one of the events in the Appleton area sometime but I don't have a car so it's hard. Zepplin is from the Madison area I believe but goes to school on the east coast or something.

    Raphnet Vs Mayflash for Netplay

I have had 3 Mayflashes in the span of under a year, sadly, due to them breaking. After the first I really should have bought a Raphnet. It's an overall ****ty adapter. It works, but my transition between console and online is trash and whenever I'm not used to one, the other feels completely...

Looking for input on my Smash 64 balance-patch ideas

There are certainly a lot of valid reasons for not supporing a balance patch, especially if it were pushed for competitive play, like accessibility to the scene decreasing. But I'm not sure how you can claim then game is perfectly balanced--I mean I know you're most likely exaggerating, but I've...

Bought Smash 64 at Super Smash Con, looking to start playing

In addition to the technique videos, I'd also recommend simply watching competitive gameplay to try and learn--plus it's very entertaining. Here is Apex 2014 pools https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQY3BL0yGbvU6pffF6AhTWc_YZqjEUldu

    How is this game fun?

Yes it is undeniably competitive and has a large skill gap. It stands out from other Smash games by having very offensive matches due to increased hitstun resulting in exciting combos and z cancelling removing all ending lag on some attacks allowing movement to be fast.
