Vayseth's Voyage: The Struggling Japanese Melee Community

That's not necessarily true. Japan is vastly better at Smash 64 than the US and any other region except maybe Peru, and their Kansai tournament series reaches hundreds of entrants.

Get On My Level 2016 Recap

No mention of derek's insane loser's run in Smash 64? That's easily one of the biggest highlights of the event by far.

    Yoshi Discord Channel

Hey everyone, I made a Discord channel for Yoshi discussion. I think this will be easier for discussion overall, but we'll see how it plays out. You can join by following this link: https://discord.gg/0vWHh31xabuQLZ91 If you don't have a Discord account I highly suggest you create one. If...

    Metal Mario

Yeah, Giant DK is the pretty much the same. You can get the same behavior in VS. Mode by just setting your handicap to a low number and an opponent's to something higher than yours.

    Metal Mario

If you're referring to Story Mode, it's because of his handicap which increases his weight and knockback on his moves. 100% isn't a hardcoded number; it's just that roughly around that percent is where moves start doing more knockback to him.

Ask VMan about Yoshi Thread (A General Yoshi Discussion)

Hey everyone, sorry for the double post. I rewatched my stream matches from the Norcal Arcadian yesterday and want to thank you all for supporting me and giving advice in the stream chat. Some of my tech was off sometimes since the only time I get to play is at tournaments because I don't have...

Ask VMan about Yoshi Thread (A General Yoshi Discussion)

I'm officially retiring from Melee for a while to focus on Smash 64. I'll still enter Melee events if 64 is also there, but I won't be attending any Melee-only tournaments after this weekend, which is the Norcal Arcadian. I have plans to return eventually, but I can't say for sure when that'll...

Returning to the Dinosaur (Help a Brother Out)

Movement would be top priority, in my opinion. Yoshi moves differently than any other character, and you'll need to readjust to how his double jump works. Wavelands are also crucial.. For Yoshi discussions outside of SmashBoards I'd also like to recommend Discord, which I feel does a better job...

    Yoshi Matchups?

This is Melee Character Discussion; I think you meant to post this in the Smash 4 boards.

Ask VMan about Yoshi Thread (A General Yoshi Discussion)

My Genesis 3 summary: I ended up making it out of Wave 1 pools and placing in the top 300 in Melee and tied for 17th place in Smash 64. I feel I played very well and learned quite a bit about the ICs MU. I found that I need to work more on my shield drops and tighten my spacing so I can play...

    Some Yoshi Information

Overall I think pressing back is better since you don't run the risk of accidentally fast falling, which can mess up your ECE timing.

"Yom-Bum!" The Yoshi Film Analysis Channel.

Yoshi's tilts send Marth flying in good directions, but they're also laggy and harder to land because of Marth's range. F-tilt is good to use when Marth is in the air and D-tilt is good when he's on the ground. U-tilt is harder to land but leads into U-air kills at higher percents. F-smash is...

What beta, NPC, & 1P characters could've been playable in Vs. mode? (Smash 64)

The interview states that Bowser will be in the game, meaning he was planned. There's no indication that Bowser was actually in the game at any point of development.

Revolutionizing Yoshi: Parrying (aka supershielding) NEW VID!!

To effectively apply parrying, you'll want to bait them into thinking it's safe to attack you. If your opponent knows you're waiting to parry, they will mix up their timing or use a move other than the one you're expecting.

"Yom-Bum!" The Yoshi Film Analysis Channel.

I just saw this now. Better late than never though, right? If you space well and Marth spaces well, Marth wins. You'll want to keep him in bad positions, notably above you, so he can't fight you as effectively. I noticed you weren't staying on Marth as much as you should've and threw out moves...
