It would make sense, Sakurai has stated that he wants us to "play every inch of this game" throwing an unlockable character into the first event is the best way to get people to try that mode.

Im thinking the same, but as long as Pokemon Trainer is a starter I don't really care

1. Get the game 2. Play as much as possible before I have to go back to school. 3. Unlock at least 3 characters and/or 3 stages 4. Experiment with Stage Builder 5. Test out Wifi and Spectator mode
