Is there any way to use a down B or dair without fast falling? i know for using your dair you can set your c-stick to attack but is that really advisable? thanks

Hey guys... I'm new to DK, so i've been trying to practice some of his techniques. I've been having a lot of problems with dk's edge stall. When I tap down and upb right afterwards, i'll usually hit the edge without grabbing it and go right over. What am i doing wrong?
