Very new here. What is so good about wavedashing?

You can wavedash out of shine/shield. You can do smash attacks much faster when wavedashing than when dashing. You shouldn't always be wavedashing, there is no point.

What button do you use to L-cancel?

I use R for shielding, teching, l-cancel and wavedash.

    what would be more broken:

The most broken character would be a fox with peach's float cancel, falco's dair, sheik's bair, marth's fair, marth's utilt and down tilt, samus' wavedash, falco's shorthop, marth's grab, marth's f smash, peach's dsmash, zelda's up-b, both shines (somehow) etc...

New Doc player in the building

Vs Link It's good to avoid any bombs/boomerangs I throw at you. Working on your movement and on your shielding will help a lot. Also, if you know how to approach well, with SHFFL nair maybe, you can probably kill me using Doc's superior speed and mobility. Work on reading my techs and hitting...

    What is counterpicking?

''Counterpick: Pokemon Stadium'' ''Players select their characters. Either player may elect to Double Blind. Use Stage Striking* to determine the first stage. The players play the first match of the set. Prior to starting this match, either player may elect to Contest Port Priority or Neutral...

    What is counterpicking?

Hi, I'm a new smasher. I've never been to a tournament yet:( Anyway, I'm curious about the rules concerning picking stages. I have a couple of questions: 1. Does it matter who starts the stage striking? 2. After the first match the winner bans a stage. Is this stage banned for the rest of the...

    So....I got so lucky

Sup man, I'm a guy who played SSBM as a child and tried playing it again a couple of years ago. Found out about smashboards and the players etc. when I searched google. Taught myself the SHFFL, wavedashing and I'm still playing. Haven't really been active on the forums but I've been following...

    About 3rd party controllers

I was just thinking because they're way easier to find and 3x cheaper. But maybe there's a reason for that other than the fact that Nintendo no longer makes GC controllers.
