I'm not to sure to be honest, but the only thing I can think of is do you use the c-stick to execute aerial attacks? I know that this is a lot easier and lets you make moves a lot faster than using the normal stick.

I started playing smash back in March. I learned about wavedashing from the start but was finally able to execute it smoothly in April. Now i would say I can wavedash pretty fluently in a game but it still needs some work, its all just muscle memory to be honest. Just use it as much as you can...
