According to game freak they don't. According to game freak everybody who plays games wants them to be easy and require no effort.

He also mentioned that in the interview. They're not adding it because nobody wants to play a hard game.

Why dose Masuda say they want to make the main game easy and the post game hard, and then immediately after that he says they took out the battle frontier because it made the post game hard?
