In order to stop that sort of habit you have to become properly aware of it yourself first. Watch some of your own replays, pay attention to your habit. Then, play some matches and try to notice when you do it. After you've started to notice you do indeed have a habit, you can start getting it...

I find myself making the same mistake as you did, JC. Trying to swap the 'jump' part of normal RAR with an up-B. Thank you and toasty for this explanation, tried it a bit just now and I already manage boatloads more then before! *goes back to practice mode*

These have been discussed _thoroughly_ earlier on in the thread. If you want the whole thing, I suggest using the search function! This is what it comes down to; Any stage that has wide edges is good for R.O.B. since it makes it harder to KO him, while he has more options for edge-guarding...

I'm good, thanks! And drake, yes, it is the timing indeed. I got it wrong a lot at first too. You don't have to mash it in as quickly as you'd think from seeing the manoeuvre. Try to delay your input a little, that's how I got it.

I've tried saving for KOs: Nair. Failed miserably since I need it to not be juggled in the air consistently. Bair. Failed because I use it far too often to edgeguard or R.O.B.-rocket somebody (like, a forward-striking Bair, I love how it looks) Fsmash. Failed because I still suck at tilts...

Nope, wasn't covered before. Good information though. I would certainly not recommend getting hit though, since you don't get fuel back (where other characters do get their up+B back after being hit). That and not being able to air-dodge are the weaknesses behind R.O.B.'s incredible recovery...

I tend to just get people off the stage and edgeguard, no matter at how high % they are. Just gets easier to knock them off and keep them off, later...
