I don't use Mario much, so I can't say much on the topic, but rather than another u-air you could try your up special. That, or you could try an actual combo and not figuring out what %'s you can just spam one move repeatedly at.

Does anyone else feel Cloud is too fast? For the range and power a lot of his attacks provide he seems way too quick. Especially when he's in LB mode, then he's basically Captain Falcon with better range.

No, true combos are not necessary to beat your opponent and make watching the match less exciting. Characters should have less true combos, really. And that's why Shulk is my main, he doesn't have true combos for free damage but with skill can do some serious damage and is very versatile.

This all is very true, but on the other hand if we look at low-level play Little Mac can take some hits and still be fine thanks to having 4 moves with super armour. Not disagreeing with what you say, but he's flawed in design, a lot of his design choices point to him being made for bad players...
