    Chrom Matchups

I was hoping we could get a thread going about specific matchups and how to deal with gimps, combo breakers, and ledgeguard tactics. This thread I'll start with what I have noticed playing online. Mario: Fludd is super broken against Chrom. Anytime you are offstage or have to up-b fludd can...

How are you developing as a player?!

So since playing the new smash I find that this game has been thoroughly tested and debugged. When Brawl came out everybody was on the forums trying to break the game to make it more like Melee and now I can't find very many useful AT's akin to wavedashing/dashdancing/l cancelling/etc. So. I...

    KO's with Samus

I have had really good success with her ledge games. She gimps with Dair when the opponent spams second jump out of a throw off of stage. Fastfall -> bair = easy gimp/deaths. Fair/ Fastfall Fair has great priority and an extended hitbox when you're moving forward with the attack. I can...

I love uptilt. It's all about the timing. If someobody doesn't sweetspot the ledge, utilt usually launches them horizontally. Otherwise it's great for characters that are advancing with aerials. It's all about timing and spacing

    Samus Vs. the "Top Tier"

f-air, run backwards pivot f-tilt, shorthop away and space a good bair attack to prevent shield grabbing. These are defensive maneuvers I use a lot against aerial approaches and dash attacks. F-air's priority is pretty awesome especially compared to sex kicks and other fairs. Also, for really...

dtilt sends people off too far to be used for a combo starter but is good for disrupting opponents and punishing rolls. I've been utilizing a lot more empty shffls in this game and jumping right outside of the opponent's grab range when they are shielding. this has been pretty useful. Also...

    Best combos from Throws

samus: dthrow -> uair -> fair -> upb on a lot of the cast.

    KO's with Samus

At low % You can get 2-3 utilts. 4 if they're super heavy. Usually I use fair because it racks up more damage, but utilt to uair fair at low percentages racks up 40-50%. She has monster combos, put after about 120% nothing really combos well and setting up a bair, utilt, fsmash can be really...

Missiles while grounded should always be fired Weak -> Strong rinse and repeat. The timing isn't necessarily hard to avoid, but it's easy to get shield locked. People will always wait shielded for the weak missile to hit in which time the strong missile follows up quickly. Finally charge shot...

    KO's with Samus

It's ok for punishing rolls. At around 70-80% I have been able to follow up dsmash with an edgeguard (ff dair, ff, bair, fair, utilt) depending on the opponent. It seems like it depends mostly on the other player not being predictable, but meh. There hasn't been easy edgeguarding and gimps since...

    KO's with Samus

The hitbox seems to be only her gun and the sweetspot (Flame). I have issues with this and don't like to use it too much as a reliable finisher, especially against faster characters/characters with a good shield grab.

    Perfect Pivot, Foxtrotting, Dashdancing

Most people reference melee dashdancing, but yes it is still in there.

    KO's with Samus

Samus has great killing potential with her great array of moves, yet oftentimes really hard to land the killing blow. What are your ways of KOing opponents?? Bair Gimping is the best way to get KO's 70% and below. Most opponents can be combo'd with bair -> bair below 100%. For noobs it's easy...

Punish rolls with Charge shots. Its super easy regardless of where they roll because of charge's speed. Also landing lag can be punished with timed neutral b's. For opponents advancing by dash, an uncharged neutral b can stop them in their tracks and for little mac's who abuse dash attack is...
