I originally was a marvel/street fighter player, but my love for Nintendo games eventually pushed me back into smash bros, and I haven't really touched my other fighters in a while. While I do play somewhat competitively (i don't really go to tournaments but I DO know how to play), I play for the love of the game. Fast paced, technical, cancels, stuff like that are what made me play fighters in the first place. But I will not deny this...Brawl was incredibly boring...how some found that competitive is beyond me.

I loved melee, and I still do. I even have two copies of melee and the "20XX" hack too. However, I mainly play project M because it has Zero Suit Samus. At first when 3.0 was released, I mained Roy. Why? Because he was my main in melee. Why was Roy my main in melee over Marth? Because I wanted to be different. And how did that work out? Not as good as you'd expect...I used Marth too anyway.
Back to why I mained Zero Suit instead.
Metroid is my favorite Nintendo franchise, however...I could not for the life of me use Samus at all. I was so frustrated by it too. Then I see Zero Suit Samus playable and everything fell perfectly in place. Sounds strange but that's how it truly felt...no johns.

Since then, I've mained ZSS, and have pocket characters here and there. I play with a few friends whom want to literally kill my ZSS. What gave me some grief though were the changes done to her in 3.5. It didn't feel right to me but I decided to do what EVERYONE should do when something changes their character of choice...adapt.
I got used to the changes, and that enabled me to re-think my gameplay, which also resulted in new mixups, resets, etc. I went from being a safe-to-aggressive player, to a more mixup-and-unpredictable type of player if that makes any sense.

Finally, I want to prove it to everyone who uses Zero Suit in Project M, that she can be good even with the changes. She can overcome her bad matchups and make spacie players wanna pick something else instead...
