Is it healthy to claw the controller part of the time?
I think you should play with what feels best for you until you know for 100% certain that you can't possibly hit a jc grab or any jc maneuver with perfect timing. With enough practice you might be able to reach a speed that works just fine and allows you to get the advantage in tight situations...- Aprox
