I really don't see Cloud being a clone of Ike any more than Shulk being a clone of Ike. Sure they may have similar 'movements' in some of their moves (like fair or dair, as seen in trailer so far) but mechanic wise, not so much. I mean, they're both big sword users, there's bound to be similar...

Im of the mentality that unless ive grown proficient enough with one character, i dont move to another. And by proficient i mean saturating most if not all possibilities of that character before explorng someone else. Hence, no i dont really secondary and am just playing ike atm. Thankfully...

The place for dsmash to shine I suppose is when your opponent is offstage and catches the ledge the second time. Dsmash is quick enough to respond to the ledge snap and shoot them far horizontally (most likely killing them) while dealing a significant amount of damage.
