The Melee/PM community has somehow convinced themselves that all LCDs lag and that's that, which isn't the case. I am in possession of a setup that has less than 1 frame of lag, which means no lag in-game, but somehow players see 3 or more, and it's 100% a placebo effect, so I'm not certain how many people will bother setting up an HDMI setup, but this is a rock solid guide other than that.

Having an HD monitor as the first suggestion is a terrible idea. No LCDs are capable of displaying an image laglessly.
