The first thing you got to know is that Super Smash Bros Melee is easy to get started with. Here are the steps:
1) Go buy the game
2) Insert the game into either a GameCube or a Wii
3) Turn on the GameCube or Wii.
4) If you are playing on the Wii, navigate to the disc channel to start the game. If you are on the GameCube, the game should start automatically
5) Either watch the intro for some background, or press START to skip it
6) Press START at the title screen
