Canada [Vancouver Island BC] Parksville Smash 4 Monthly Tourneys!

Hey there, we're a group of people who have decided to provide a tournament scene for the relatively obscure location of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. There's a few other great scenes out here too, but there really aren't any in the lower half of the Island, usually people have to head up to at least Nanaimo or Victoria in order to get their fair share of tourney action, so we decided to make an accessible outlet down here in Parksville, and while we're somewhat small, we've been steadily growing and competing.

We're having our first major event this Saturday, February 27th, at 6:00 PM [Pacific Time]!

It will be located at the "Parksville Civic Centre", the address of this building is 132 E. Jensen Avenue, Canada BC, Parksville. The specific room within the building where this will take place is called the "Red Cedars Room".

Our Entry fee will be a small $9, 4 of which goes towards the prize pool, 5 of which goes towards paying for the venue costs. Any and all excess money that surpasses the initial costs of the venue will all go towards a bigger prize pool for players.

We've already got 15 people confirmed to be going, and our capacity is 45, so come on down, no pre-registration is required as of yet, but letting people know you'll be there in advance, either through here or our facebook group, is welcome. Some of our players may be considered well respected around the island, no names mentioned for now.

Yo cool I'm on the Island and I'll be sure to show up!

So our first official local event (hosted on the 27th of feb 2016) has ended, with a pretty good turnout for the first time, I'm happy to say.
We had a total of 19 entrants and a prize pool of over $100, and some good players were certainly there--speaking of which, the aliases of the top 3 finalists were as follows, and for the sake of it here's some honorable mentions to those who came close:

4. (Honorable mentions): Mygrain
5. Badmantonk / 5. SPGT

Congrats to those who finished well, and thanks everyone for coming. We're looking forward to potential growth and more tourneys in the future! No word on just when that will be as of right now, I'm afraid, but expect another event within about a month at most. As usual, to anyone interested feel free to come by whenever an event is hosted, and join our facebook group for future updates + more. The group is open to anyone.

After the next tournament, there will be a PR (If you don't want to be on it feel free to let a group admin know on Facebook and I'll exclude mentioning you). Everyone who attended is now seeded for future tournaments according to their results!
