Hi, everyone!

We're having our first Super Smash Bros. Tournament at the Rehoboth Beach Public Library on Saturday, January 26 at 12:00! We are currently limiting it to 40 participants and you can register here on our website: https://delawarelibraries.libcal.com/event/4768502. Snacks will be provided and we will also have other game stations set up for you to enjoy while you wait your turn. This event is open to kids, teens, and adults. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place.

The library is located in town on Rehoboth Avenue, a few blocks away from the beach. While we have limited parking behind the building, you can also park for free in town, as the meters are turned off at this time of year.

If you want to share this info with a friend, we do have the tournament listed as an event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2220625014886824/. HOWEVER, please be aware that listing yourself as "Interested" or "Going" does NOT count as registering for the tournament.

Is this event going to be 1v1 or 4 player? I also understand thta it is currently set for 2-minute KO Fest, but most tournaments use 3-stock 1 VS 1 rules, with certain stages legal.

For this event, we're going to have 1v1 and stick to timed battles. It's our first Super Smash Bros. tournament, and while I doubt we'll go past closing time (the library closes at 3:00 on Saturdays), I want to put a limit on how long each battle lasts just in case.

Here are the rules:

  • Single elimination
  • Timed, two minute battles
  • Random stage selection
  • No items or Spirits

We are hoping to make this a regular event if the first tournament is a success, so I will absolutely consider switching up the rules in the future regarding stock vs. timed, items, Spirits, etc.
