Hello everybody! We've been planning this event for a while, now it's time we finally start to unveil our plans! On Saturday, October 24th we are planning on hosting Melee and Smash 4 Tournaments for the Bay Area and NorCal! We have a massive venue just for this event! It is currently 18+ only, for safety reasons. In order to ensure the safety of those under 18, the school would require we buy insurance that we simply could not be able to afford. We are currently working with Showdown to get their assistance with this event and our ability to stream it. This would be a one day event starting at 9:00AM - 7:00PM. Signups are from 9:00AM to 10:00AM! There will be at the door registration and payment if you are unable to preregister or pay ahead of time. Bringing a full setup will waive your venue fee completely, and if you pay ahead of time and still bring a setup, you will receive your $5 back. Bringing setups is much appreciated. Preregistration is not required, but it guarantees your spot in the tournament if you pay via Smash.GG. We will be doing registration the morning of the tournament though.
Information: Where: San Francisco State University, Student Life Event Center @ Annex 1. This venue has approximately 9,000 Square Feet for us to use. This will be the largest-scale tournament venue in SF! (We will release a map and directions)
When: Saturday, October 24th, 2015. 9:00 AM - 7:00PM. One-Day!
What: A 128-person cap Smash 4 Tournament, a 128-person cap Melee Tournament, and a Melee Doubles Tournament!
How: This event is being run by The Smash Brothers at SF State. We are looking to work with Smash.GG and Showdown as well. There will be a $5 dollar venue fee and a $5 dollar fee per tournament entry. Sign-ups begin at 9:00AM and end at 10:00 AM. BRINGING A FULL SETUP BEFORE 10:00AM WILL WAVE YOUR VENUE FEE, AND IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
Prize Pool for all tournaments:
50% - 1st
30% - 2nd
10% - 3rd
This is coming out of the pot of Tournament Entry Fees.
10% of the Prize Pool is going towards the venue costs and the expenses for the overall tournament. This is to ensure the quality of the event, to keep the venue prices down and convenient, and make sure we are able to host more events in the future.
