Smash Apprentice
Hello everyone, I am pleased to announce Charlotte's newest Smash 4 monthly! Skill to Survive will have Smash 4 Singles and Smash 4 doubles. Cloud WILL be banned in doubles. If you are even slightly interested, your attendance would be greatly appreciated! The more who come out, the more likely we will be able to host more monthlies for Charlotte. I will personally be running the event along with assistance from Koyobi, without whom this tournament series might not even exist.
Venue Information:
The venue is located at Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill, 7731 Gateway Ln NW, Concord, NC 28027. For those of you who went to Smash it Again, this is very close to that venue!
Venue and Tournament Fees:
Venue Fee - $5
Singles Registration - $5
Doubles Registration - $5 per player ($10 per team)
*****PLEASE bring a Wii U!!! Some monitors are already provided, however we need Wii U's to use those monitors! We will DISCOUNT THE VENUE TO $3 for people who bring a Wii U. While monitors would be very appreciated and would help the even run smoothly, we will provide the discount if you have one or not.*****
Schedule of Events:
1 PM – Doors Open and Registration Starts
2:30 PM – Wii U Doubles Registration Ends*
4:30 PM – Wii U Singles Registration Ends*
*Events will commence within 15 minutes of the registration deadline.
Tournament rules:
Singles is Double Elimination, best of 3. Winner's Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Final's is best of 5. Depending on the size of the event, we may extend best of 5 to top 8.
All rules for singles/doubles are tournament standard, with the exception that Cloud is banned in doubles.
Venue Rules and Regulations:
1. Respect all players and administration. We want to ensure a smooth and positive experience for new and experienced players alike, so be mindful of your actions and words!
2. Please refrain from having any food or beverages on the tables or near the equipment. The costs to replace these setups is very expensive and we want to ensure that we keep our equipment in pristine condition for many events to come!
3. Notify an employee of any accidents or spills that may occur. This includes any incidents near the equipment.
4. Any drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any kind will result in immediate legal action and can result in arrests, as well as being banned from the venue permanently.
5. Any disputes or questions regarding rules and match procedures should be consulted to the T.O. to ensure that the proper method is executed.
6. Matches are actively called and followed through Challonge. When a match is called, both players are responsible for ensuring that the match is played out and recorded. A player also has 10 minutes to be present for a match before being subjected to disqualification for the round.
7. Coaching during sets is prohibited. Players caught coaching in an active set can be subjected to disqualification.
Payouts:
A $50 Pot bonus will be added to the payout!
Payouts are determined by a plateau system that is set to a range of entrants for a bracket. They are as follows:

1st - 60%
2nd – 40%
16-48
1st – 55%
2nd – 30%
3rd – 15%
48-64
1st – 50%
2nd – 30%
3rd – 15%
4th – 5%
64+
1st – 40%
2nd – 25%
3rd – 15%
4th – 10%
5th place tie – 5%
