Mel Hype is now a monthly tournament series occurring on the first Friday of each month.

Crown Productions Gaming proudly presents Melbourne Hype 2.2 at the beautiful Premiere Theaters Oaks 10. The main events will take place on the second floor of the lobby with Grand Finals played in the theater!

This time, we're running singles brackets for both games and doubles for Melee. We're going to alternate games for doubles each time, so October will feature Smash 4 doubles.

This event is sponsored by the Merritt Square Mall GameStop, and additional prizes will be supplied by our local Nintendo representative!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wireless controllers are allowed, but you must be sure to desync your controller from the consoles when you’re not playing. If your controller causes a holdup, you will be disqualified. We recommend removing the batteries when not in use. If you have a Wii U Pro Controller, you can remove the rechargeable battery and use the included mini-USB cable for power. Just plug it into the Wii U, sync, and you’re good to go. When you leave, the controller will stop receiving power and will be unable to get you in trouble.

Please, for the efficiency of the brackets and the enjoyment of all participants, be sure to get food and use the restroom between brackets.

We will have a sign-out sheet at the front desk for players who leave. If a match comes up, we will text or call you. If you do not return within five minutes, you will be disqualified.

Friendlies are NOT permitted during bracket on tournament setups. If we have extra setups, we will create a designated friendlies zone. Players who use tournament setups for friendlies or money matches will be disqualified.

Please, if you have a setup, bring it.

FOOD AND DRINK

Outside snacks and drinks (with the exception of bottled water) are not permitted in the theater, so please take advantage of the concessions the Oaks offers!
