The 2016 Epic EnCircle Tournament is our second annual Melee tournament benefitting our non-profit, EnCircle Technologies. We teach young adults on the autism spectrum tech related job skills (like coding and graphic design) to help them find employment and live independent lives. Practically all of our students have a love for video games, so what better fundraising event to host than a Melee tournament?
Last year, we successfully ran our first tournament with a sold out 40 player pool for both singles and doubles. This year, we're expanding our brackets to accommodate professional, casual, and even sponsor level tournaments.
Prize pool amounted to $1783 (or something similar) but this year, we're making it a flat $2000 prize pool. (makes it easier for book keeping!)
Competitors came from all over the state for our tournament, and we thank them so much for participating. We got a lot of positive feedback for our tournament, and this year we're even starting an hour later to make it easier to get to Columbia. We want to strengthen the Melee community, and hope that players can feel good about supporting our nonprofit.
Entry for singles is $15 - Check out the eventbrite for all details including console/game discount venue passes.
Here's our link to our eventbrite for tournament registration and more information. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at joe.chee@encircletech.org
