Bring your a-game and show off your Smash Bros. skills!
Super Smash Bros. Wii-U Tournament. This is our second week and we're doing singles (1v1) matches.
Prizes tba! All ages and skill levels welcome!
We'll be following Smash League Gaming rules for singles matches:
-The tournament format will be Double Elimination style.
-2 Stock, 6-minute Limit
-Items Off
-Equipment Off
-Best of 3 (2/3); Semi-Finals and Finals Best of 5 (3/5)
-Starting Stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Town & City, Dream Land
-Counterpick Stages: Duck Hunt, Lylat Cruise
-NO OMEGA STAGES
-NO Custom Moves
-NO Amiibos
-No loading data from DS unless approved by event organizer.
-You may not choose a stage you already won on unless mutually agreed upon.
-You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
-Any additional rules will be explained at the event.
We'll be providing controllers (choice between a Wii U Gamepad, Wiimote, Wiimote w/ Nunchuck, and GC Controller. Sorry, no Wii U Pro Controllers available as of yet.) Feel free to bring your own controllers (labelled or marked in some way to show it belongs to you), however Wireless Gamecube Controllers specifically are BANNED (for simplicity and to eliminate possible wireless interference problems.)
Registration at the door and casual play from 12:30PM-1:15PM but feel free to arrive early (no earlier than Noon) and meet other players. Also, up-and-coming YouTuber and Twitch Streamer Tom "TheyCallMeTakeo" Moen will be there hosting and facilitating the event.
If there is a large turnout, the tournament may be extended into the next week, with this week's event being treated as a qualifier event, and the next week being finals. The reason for this is for scheduling purposes.
Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. And once the event for the day is over, you'll also have the option to stay as well for the anime Midnight Marathon afterward starting at 6pm. This week's feature is the classic Cardcaptor Sakura!
