SmashDEN presented by YetiGamer.com - a Super Smash Bros monthly tournament series that will turn into a Smash League once SSB Ultimate releases in December.

In order to make the tournament easier to run, we'd like for people to create a free smash.gg account and register for the tournament at the link below:

Smash.gg Signup

Facebook Event Page

This will enable us to keep track of stats and make future events easier to handle. If you'd rather not create a smash.gg account, please email me at chase@yetigamer.com with your intention on participating in the event so I can manually add you into the bracket.

If you don't want to participate in the main tournament, there will be another TV with Brawl or Smash 64 for fun.

** If you have your own GameCube controller, it would be beneficial to bring it. If you don't have your own controller, there will be a few controllers available for use. **

Venue:

The Venue is a bar, as such there will be beer / food available and outside food and drink is welcome.

Rules:

The first portion of the bracket will be best of one matches. Then the later portion will turn into best of three matches. We will determine when we switch based on number of entrants.

Each match is played with timed stock, with 4 lives and 8 minutes.

Items are turned off.

In the case that time runs out and both characters have an equal amount of lives, the character with less damage at the end of the match wins. If both characters have equal lives and damage, or if both characters lose their last life on the same frame, the match must be replayed. Sudden Death will not be played.

The first match is played on one of the five neutral stages listed below. Which neutral stage is picked is determined by stage striking (alternating bans) until only one remains. The player who bans first will be determined by random draw.

Neutral Stages:
Battlefield
Dream Land N64
Final Destination
Fountain of Dreams
Yoshi's Story

Counterpick-only Stage:
Pokémon Stadium

For the first match, characters are chosen blind (at the same time), so that neither player knows their opponent's character beforehand.

The loser of the first match (and of successive matches) chooses the next stage, and then the winner chooses their character, and then the loser chooses their character. The loser can pick either a neutral stage or a counterpick stage.

The loser cannot choose any stage that has already been played earlier that round.

Any player found to be using glitches, stalling, or wobbling will receive an automatic game loss.

Prizes:

The prizes will be Steam/Battle.net keys for the games below:

Destiny 2

Kerbal Space Program

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

NBA Playgrounds.

First place gets to choose first, then second, then third, finally fourth place gets the last key.
