Many people are getting theories from the new banner at the official Smash site. A theory I apply to this is that black represents Bayonetta and Red represents Jeanne. So both will be in Smash but as alternate skins same as Olimar and Alph.

Good idea. Also Red+Black is part of Bayonetta's OST.

We got Virtua Fighter costumes in the game, those are of SEGA's property, perhaps were getting lots of more content from SEGA soon, hopefully some form of Bayonetta content.

Did somebody make fan-art of Bayonetta vs and Inking? Well then here is a fighter talk with one.

Inkling
Bayonetta: That's strange. How can a person take tentacles for hair?

Luka: Well, Bayonetta, that is an Inkling, which can change between a kid and squid.

Bayonetta: So that explains the weird look.

Luka: This fighter uses weapons as its main form of combat, and they can
cover everything with paint, but the paint evapororates after a
short period of time.

Bayonetta: Thank goodness I don't have to clean up all this mess.

Luka: However, an inkling can use any color of paint to hide and go faster
as a squid. The inkling can leap out and perform a surprise attack
before going into human form. However, the squid form is
more suspect to increased damage and knockback if anyone manages to hit one.
I am sure that weakness will come in handy, especially with your
wicked attacks.

Bayonetta: Good.. and if any Inkling, outside of Smash, ruin any of my dresses,
I will make a calamari out of them, whether they're a squid or not.

Luka: Whoa.. You don't wanna be too cruel in front of that squid kid.

These just have to be the most explosive and fattest bullets in the industry. #very_realistic

OK, seeing as we are getting Mii costumes from Virtua Fighter, I am somewhat scared on the chances Bayonetta has. Like saying that the next Sega rep will come from the VF series.

The last time Virtua Fighter been on a Nintendo console was the Game Boy Advance and none of the characters are that memorable. So I doubt we'll even have a single character from that franchise.

I personally don't want that for her. It's Ryu's thing and should stay like that.
Plus, I don't do complicated.
Still could work for Bayonetta to have more stuff around. Maybe not as complex as Ryu but still do something to make her play similar as in her games.

Maybe. But I think normal smash moveset buttons would still represent enough, as long as her moveset has been picked nicely from her games.

If anything, I think that Bayonetta should have a hold button mechanic, but not for stronger moves like Ryu, but for delayed attacks, shooting with the guns. Like in the Bayonetta games.

The input would be similar to Ryu, but the result would not.

Still can't beat Rodin.

Oh god, imagine him appearing as an assist trophy!

As long as there aren't any ACTUAL Virtua Fighter characters, i wouldn't be too worried about that.
+ Virtua Fighter had only... one (?) game on a Nintendo console, nobody remembers them, AND Virtua Fighter characters are rather... forgettable. (Sorry to every VF fan out there!)

He probably added those costumes for the sake of getting the 3 fighting games together.
Yeah, i remember them saying something like "These three classic fighting game franchises are now united in smash!" in the direct.

A little question about Bayonetta: Sega still owns the rights... Right?
Yes, their logo for the copyright was seen on ever trailer and its clearly visible on the back of my Bayonetta 2 case.

I think those guys would also have the say on her inclusion even though their copyright is already in Smash because Sanic.

I know about that, just that a friend manage to stay skeptical because it's almost a year since the release :troll:

I thought weapon set switching would be Bayonetta's specialty. Think of Shulk's Monado Arts, but Bayonetta switching between a gun moveset and a sword moveset.

Hm... Kinda hard to recall them, as I had the game in French.

I guess that "I feel like a f***ing celebrity in this town" is memorable :p

"I've got a fever, and the only cure is more dead angels!" also.

"There's nothing I hate more than crying babies than cockroaches. But a baby cockroach would have been even worse."

The fact that it was able to spawn an animated fan parody with a literal baby cockroach in it is what makes it the best to me.

Okay... I have prepared some talks involving current Kid Icarus characters

Pit
Bayonetta: Well it must be Pit, the eros-like winged human
who's always honest as a hero of light.

Pit: That's an angel, Beyonetta...

Bayonetta: Whatever.. I wonder how you fight and tell me your favorite weapon?

Pit: I like to use many weapons along with my limited flight. My favorite and primary
combat is Palutena's bow, so I can split it into two blades for good close combat.
Now tell me yours.

Bayonetta: I use the technique of an Umbra witch known as Bullet Arts, consisting
of two of my favorite things: martial arts and guns. If I can't combo
any foes from afar, I'll have to shoot out magical bullets to do the trick.

Pit: That's quite a coincidence since the both of us best fight
through close melee attacks.

Bayonetta: Well, since we have many things in common, you should
have cupid's arrow right through your heart so you can
easily fall in love with girls, including me.

Pit: Oh. No-no-no! I feel too young for this!

Palutena
Bayonetta: Well, it must be Palutena. I finally get to meet someone of light
who's always good!

Palutena: I glad to meet you, Bayonetta, the dark witch
who isn't evil.

Bayonetta: I am interested on how you fight like a goddess.

Palutena: As a goddess of light, I can use my staff
to conjure plenty of magic, ranging from attacks
such as autorectile, energy beams, and ethereal wings
to defensive options like reflect barrier, warp, and angelic missile.
How do you use your magic?

Bayonetta: In addition to my bullet arts, I can transform
into various animals to use its powers such as a crow
for increased flight and a panther to run faster. Also,
I can use my witch time to slow down opponents who aren't
quick enough to avoid me. Finally, I can summon a few demons to
deliver powerful attacks, such as Madama Butterfly
for my wicked punches and kicks.

Palutena: Wow... You sure know how to fight like a real witch.

Bayonetta: Thank you, and I wonder if you like to, after a match,
join me in having a tea party?

Palutena: How wonderful! I's always excited to get to know new friends.

Pit: Oh boy, can I join too, Palutena?

Palutena: You might want to ask the host for that.

Bayonetta: Usually I would welcome anyone to join in, unless we decide to make
this for girls only.

Pit: What??

Bayonetta and Palutena both give laughter and talk ends.

I admit that the last one is my favorite because of wordplay of some insulting language without using the words
Dark Pit
Dark Pit: Son of a witch. Another woman of the dark? That's pretty weak.

Bayonetta: Excuse me? (Uses wicked foot, but Dark Pit dodges quickly with fear)

Dark Pit: What the???

Bayonetta: I think' you're better off to shut your trap, Dark Pit,
since that isn't how you talk to a lady.

Dark Pit: I can bet that ever since I defeated Pandora, I can win against
you in one try!

Bayonetta: I'm sorry.. You should know that I took down a lot more
bad boys than you can count. Besides, you are nothing more than
a devilish copy of Pit!

Dark Pit: I am not! My favorite weapon to use is staff under my name,
and if I have used the silver bow, it has plenty of subtle differences
to stand apart from Pit's golden one.

Bayonetta: Well then, unless you start acting like a gentleman and stop
talking pitooie against me, I will show you my ultimate powers of
an Umbra Witch.

Dark Pit: How dare you call me Pitoo! Show me what you got.

Bayonetta: Oh.. Now you're asking for it. (Chants summon code for Labolas)

Labolas screams when suddenly leaping out of the portal in front of
Dark Pit

Dark Pit then screams very loudly and runs away, panicking in horror.

Bayonetta: What a baby... He didn't even try to attack me.

I really wanted Brawl's character transformations gone. Moveset-switching I have the same opinion on. Moveset enhancing like Shulk's arts....I like.

You know with Star Fox being confirmed as the next Platinum Games title, it actually gives me hope that they would probably work on both Bayonetta 3 and Murasame Castle. I can see Bayo 2's director being in charge of the third games development while there's a bit of hope that Kams might think about handling Taka's big debut in the far future. So in a way, PT being in charge of Star Fox Zero actually gave us Platinum fans some hope in the end.

They still follow Miyamoto's orders it seems.

But yes, it make me happy that B3 can still happen on Nintendo.......especially if noone else wants to fund it again.

Does anyone know if Kamiya blocks people who commend his games? The reason I'm asking is because I composed a brief, formal letter telling Kamiya how much I liked his past games, and that if he would be interested in making the next Kid Icarus. But, when I went to copy/paste it, I was stopped by a rather arbitrary word limit. I was thinking about telling him about the games in one message, then asking him about KI in another.

I see his tweets every day. He usually replies with a happy face to people who praise.
Not sure about asking for him to make KI, since he blocked 'starfox idiots' before the reveal although if you praise enough and write well about why he might be interested in making KI he prob wouldn't since it's an original tweet. (which would be A M A Z I N G!)

I say do it. If he blocks I can ask him to unlock you for me, if you want. He unblocks when people say so and so was sorry ect.
