You said you could view results sorted by country, right? If so, once you get a decent number of votes from Japan, could you post those specific results?

Very indepth poll. I liked it. My most desired Sonic stage is not on there (Winged Fortress Zone) and Oil Ocean Zone would be nice too. However, Sky Fortress is pretty cool so I voted for it and Green Hill (the classic).

I didn't vote for third parties I didn't believe would be in the game so no Banjo-Kazooie.

Awww it saddens me to see Travis touchdown slipping further and further down the list. I know he's exceptionally unlikely to be in it but I love the character heh. Also sucks to see Geno and Mallow falling further down it. But, on the brighter side of things Megaman, King K. Rool, and Ridley are still rocking it so that's all good. Also Little Mac and Paper Mario are up there too so that's also cool. Overall I don't have a huge list of characters I would like to see added to the game so as long as some of the ones I've listed here make it in I'll be a happy camper everyone else will just be fun to see as new additions.

Really? The only ones I recall having any interest in having their characters in smash are the creators of Professor Layton, Mega Man, Travis Touchdown, Meat Boy, the guy's at Namco and I guess a few others who slipped my mind. We haven't really heard any statements of other creators of some characters (Except for the guy from Bayonetta who told "Smash idiots to **** off")

I'd say a majority of game creators with eligible characters wouldn't turn down their character being in Smash, but I'd hardly say 90% actively want their character to be included.

But it's true though, there could be some who are interested to have their characters but just never stated it publicly.

I hate when people use the justification "developer wants it" when talking about third party characters in Smash. They act like that's all that matters. They completely disregard Sakurai's statements on the difficultly of implementing third party characters.

I would LOVE to see my own personal Mii as a stand-alone character. That means it'll happen, right?

May not be third-party, but I think I got my point across on how flawed that justification is.

Of course there is that as well. I highly doubt Sakurai would add all of those third parties anyway. And I don't believe anyone else does. Especially since he doesn't want to go overboard with it.

We are only speculating which creators shown interest in having their characters in the game. Doesn't mean they are actually getting it or are going to go through with it.

I take comfort in the fact that I'm not the only one out there who sees that abomination for what he is. This character took no mental effort to design and is an utterly pointless character to the Mario series and people think he'd be a good idea for Smash?!

But that's just a personal rant. I dunno what Sakurai is thinking, but I hate Waluigi with such an incredible passion... The only game character I hate more than him is Patroklos of Soul Calibur V.

Though you would think Ridley would be the most popular first party character. But I guess people really love Mewtwo. If he ever does comeback, I want to see his moveset be improved upon. But I suppose that should've gone without saying. Right?

I think pretty much everyone who voted him up just likes him. I don't know of anyone who categorizes him in "love to hate." I'm convinced that some are just enamored with that annoying joke. (You know the one...)
And if I wanted a punching bag, I'd have voted for him in a heartbeat. But I don't think there's enough room on the roster for someone to fill the unnecessary role of punching bag.
I would think Ridley would be #1, but Metroid isn't adored by everyone and some people actually still think he has size issues. Still, he's pretty much a shoe-in for popularity, importance and the dire need for Metroid to have additional reps. I'm not worried about Ridley's chances.

Not true, actually. Don't forget that Ridley made an appearance in both Melee AND Brawl, so fans could easily be introduced to both the character and series through Smash.

The only reason I think Waluigi might be better known is the simple fact that more people know the Mario series than the Metroid series. However, Ridley is indisputably the more important of the two. He's the over-arching villain of his series and is more popular, whereas Waluigi is nothing but filler content for his series.

Even for those who support Waluigi, hopefully we can all agree that Ridley is a much more important character and better choice.

Wow, I was not expecting a recount so soon. I guess voting activity really spiked huh?

The top ten have really held their spots tight this entire time. I wouldn't be surprised if all of them were playable somehow, whether in the initial lineup or as DLC.

As for my immediate reaction, there is good news and there is bad news.

Good news is, Chrom has maintained his lead over Waluigi and is higher by even more votes this time!

Bad news is, Waluigi did the same to Shulk. Still, Shulk's done well for a relatively new character in a new IP.
