I never saw the anime, but I heard it's not that great of an adaptation.

Or maybe they're saying that cause the anime onlys are just that annoying.

It gets it right most of the time by being willing to slow things down but the 4 big changes IMO are

1: They removed the short ass Muscle Devil part which happens between meeting Makima and Aki. Honestly not much of a loss and I'm sure it was done to introduce Power earlier

2: Fujimoto's paneling game is on point and cannot be replicated, with the anime literally being unable to adapt how the Curse Devil attacks outside the panels in a neat fourth wall break-y way

3: Makima's famous panel when on the train is absolutely ruined in the anime, the lighting, Makima's changed expression, the drawing of her and the length of the still shot in the manga genuinely ruin it for me

4: They fumbled the bag with Himeno badly by making her actually kiss Denji with tongue and make her more... Alluring when she almost sleeps with the kid and worst of all, significantly downplay her reaction to finding out she almost drunkenly slept with a child, in the anime she kinda brushes it off with a smile but in the manga she freaks it, realizing how dangerous her drunk, lonely lifestyle is and acts as a wake up call. It feels like they wanted her to be more fanservicey like with what they did with Makima but for Makima, it works as it makes us see what Denji sees

I wish more of Microsoft’s franchises got the time of day. The reviews for crackdown 3 depress me because they basically all boil down to the game not being “modern” enough. Whatever that even means. And I want to see them make a Crackdown 4. I’d love to see them make a new Blinx game, or Voodoo Vince, or Azurik, or Ninety Nine Nights, or Lost Odyssey, or Phantom Dust, or Blue Dragon. Don’t even get me started on Rare. But none of these guys are ever gonna get the time of day.

I just watched Pokémon: Mewtwo Strike Back - Evolution. This is the first time I've watched something from the Pokémon anime since generation 3. A good remake of the original movie (but why aren't Team Rocket vikings?) but the artstyle for the humans looked really weird to me.

I watched it on the Pokémon TV app for Switch, which is in real need of better picture quality.

It would be cool, if the Kremlings ever come back as the main villains of a DKC game, if some of the Kremlings were very obviously female. We don't really get mook villains who are girls in video games and the Kremling army is entirely male. Do it next time!
