At least it's better than how Capcom or EA treat their fans...And is Ridley fairly popular in Europe? Rabbidluigi wants him, I want him, friends of mine who only know him from SSE think he would be pretty cool. I think Japan has the least Ridley fans even though he was a tad bit popular before Brawl's release

Pokemon X and Y was Nintendo's big game of last year, I could see being pissed over that. Likewise, Smash 4 is the Nintendo's big game of this year, Once again something to be pissed over. Given the leaker for Smash 4 was a NOA employee, compared to X and Y's leaker who was just some guy who worked at a Gamestop, Nintendo's probably more pissed over Smash than X and Y.

Looks like Ridley is trying to start an acting career, good for him!
Seriously though it's really funny how much this character (who is called Cleric) looks like an old man Ridley with no wings.
Like....it's scary how much likeness there is to Ridley, especially the head and neck, even the color of his skin and eyes!

If its japan exclusive they may get bad news because of smash bros japan being delayed as well
And wouldn't we get japans reaction first on ridley since they are less hype for him (like little mac)

The game will come out, be bought and played by millions, months will pass and will come out on the Wii U too. Even then, Ridley won't be confirmed at the current rate, even with those millions unlocking and playing with him.

And may be Japanese only. I have mixed feelings. Hype for a character announcement, sadness that if this stays Japanese only, no way is that character Ridley.

I feel like the only chance Ridley has for being revealed tomorrow would be if he's in a trailer with shulk
it does make some sense, most wanted chapter in Japan vs most wanted western character, arguably the most heroic Nintendo character vs undoubtedly the most evil, little guy vs big monster

Based on their comments, I get the impression that every newcomer will get a trailer, and one before they have the chance to be "leaked" from people actually playing. I would think he'd be revealed on the eve of release, though I doubt he'd get revealed earlier.

this is getting harder to hope for ridley... i mean, despite all the talk about ridley being playable, we didnt see any proof of it... and now this new direct has no chance of showing ridley, most likely.

Only Reason I believe we'll get a trailer for Ridley sooner than later is because the Japanese version comes in just about 2 weeks from now. We in North America are getting the games a good 2 weeks later. By then, all of the characters in the roster will be revealed. Kinda anti-climatic if Ridley is revealed through other people's copies. Maybe this direct won't have him, but it ain't out of the question for him to show up in it.
