For me I needed a bit of convincing. I was in the middle for such a long time. Maybe it was better to be that way...but I most likely wouldn't be here if I stayed neutral.

Another huge reason is that I can't wait to hear the megaman remixes!

What if:

One Ridley desgin in 3DS and one Ridley design in Wii U.

I see no problem there (aside from 2 different arts, but they still did 2 different arts for Robin and the Trainers).

The forum might crash (and eventually recover), but this thread shouldn't need to close. If anything (if Ridley's announced as a playable character), this thread should act as a social thread for Ridley supporters and fellow Space Pirates, and would be moved to the respective Ridley section of the forum (seeing a Ridley section would be a glorious sight to see).

Of course not, the Ridley thread will only become more vast after his confirmation. We will be able to actually discuss Ridley in Smash with some semblance of knowledge; albeit that will happen in other threads. It will be different, but glorious.

This is a selfish claim.

Shadow analyses aren't accurate. You can't successfully get the feel of something by looking at its shadow. Light source effects how a shadow looks.

You honestly need Sakurai to state the obvious before it sinks in?

It's not his fault you guys are too dense to get a clue. Sakurai isn't creating the false hype, you guys are.

Sakurai hasn't mentioned any other bosses either. We saw the Dark Emperor from Find Mii, for instance, but we don't even know what he does yet.

The only thing vague is what Ridley does as a stage boss, and even then most people noticed that Ridley seems to grab Pikachu before taking off, meaning that he might swoop in to harass fighters by snatching them away or other things. Ridley's status as a boss isn't vague at all.

Sakurai isn't the one causing the fake hype. It's you people.

As you said, it's not 100% accurate. Case closed. For that matter I honestly don't see how a freaking shadow can prove that Ridley is playable and Sakurai is lying.

woah man no need to get fussy over Mewtwo, we don't do the same for you and Krystal, so don't complain about those who want Mewtwo. Even then though this is where we're discussing Ridley, so try to stay on topic and resist your urge to talk about Krystal here, I'm not saying that you shouldn't include her in your trailer idea, but you shouldn't backlash another's idea because they have a character you don't like

Lucario was never planned to be Mewtwo's replacement. They were meant to co-exist, but Mewtwo never saw the light of day and Lucario barely made it out. They share no similarities other than a standard special, which function differently. Ridley however was never planned to be playable in brawl. So bluh.

Was he? I thought Mewtwo was part of the forbidden 7. Lucario hardly made it to SSBB.
But the fact that this game isn't canon via Robin trailer does prove the point in revealing characters out of place.

There is never too many pokemon. I would not be surprised if there was 7 to be honest.

There is never too many pokemon. I would not be surprised if there was 7 to be honest.

technically we have less pokemon confirmed than brawl did if you count the trainer as 3
also half of the point of pokemon is that there are hundreds of memorable monsters so it makes sense that they have a lot of reps

So nothing noteworthy happened on Metroid's anniversary. Was kinda thinking that we'll get a Metroid 3DS stage today or something just for the occasion. The wait is still on for Ridley's official status of SSB4.
