I'm gonna be sad if I'm the only cat to make a bad stage for this round specifically

Amidst the abounding light of heaven!
That gives me an idea, please keep the bonus round going 'till I can get it in.

EDIT: I don't even want to talk about my entry. Lets just say it scrolls upwards, infinite loops, features Neko Bowser far more than any game ever should, has an overabundance of stupid pointless gimmicks and forces every player into a cat suit matching the colour of their player number (AI ICs get pastel shades), regardless of the costume chosen on the character select screen. Be grateful there are no transforming characters in Smash 4 'cause these suits make it super hard to tell who's playing as whom.
In other words, it's a perfect representation of Super Mario 3D World's last level.

First! Here's D-idara's entry! BEWARE EPILEPSY!
[collapse=Sakurai's Cat Destination]

SAKURAI'S CAT DESTINATION

This unique stage consists of a single platform like the usual Final Destination, except this stage has enormous walls to the sides with almighty cat gods watching over the battle, whenever someone's knocked towards the walls, they will MEOW! with primal anger and shoot their deadly lasers at both the person who did the attack and the attacked, dealing 999% damage and making the fighters bounce off the walls about 10 times before glitching off and getting KO'd. If you manage to surpass the walls, you'll have a tough time getting back to the stage as they're non-grabbable.

Every once in a while, a Supreme Sandwich will fly through the center of the screen, from left to right.

Despite what you might think a sandwich could do under these circumstances, touching the sandwich will instantly place all fighters on T-Position for a few seconds before the game-freezing BEEEEEP floods the sound and then, a few seconds later, this video appears and bricks your Wii U/3DS:
[/collapse]With that little thing done...here comes the next round!

This round comes rollin' around at the speed of sound! Believe In Yourself, because with the huge history of the Sonic series, You Can Do Anything! Whether you go Back In Time to the blue blur's Genesis days, or Kick The Rock with what many call his golden age, you will be safe, but keep thinking about this, if you delve into His World during the dark ages, you will Never Turn Back...but you can still Dream Of An Absolution, since there's Endless Possibilities for you to Reach For The Stars with Modern Sonic's recent victories, you might even be able to Speak With Your Heart, or stumble upon a Wonder World...

Oh...I went there~

Well, at least it's not Naive or Adamant, it's simply too good to pass up because it doesn't have a defensive nature, it still makes for a brutal Wishpasser/Healer/Dragonslayer.
Ha yeah I'm jealous I want one. I hate that I can't teach eevee heal bell in xy

(Before I say anything, I will address the bonus round: I'm gonna keep it open for an extra day. So if you want to, get those entries in!)

Sonic Wii U! I have a stage prepared for this round!

Time to roll around at the speed of sound everyone, for this is one of Sonic's most iconic stages ever.

People, welcome to City Escape!

Stage Name: City Escape

Game: Sonic Adventure 2

Description:

Ok, so this pic might be a little confusing at first, so let me explain. Firstly, why is there a road going straight up the background? Imagine the stage is situated at the bottom of a hill, with that bottom edge being a kind of drop-off, and you'll hopefully get it. Second, where's the city? I didn't draw it in. Imagine there are buildings lining the sides of the street.

Now the, the stage layout is very similar to that of Warioware from Brawl, just with the upper platforms moved closer in. In fact, the proportions of the stage are identical in my mind, so use that as a base. Just like in Warioware, the base (black line) is non-passable, while the scaffolding (yellow lines) are drop-through. For the most part, the stage is neutral. It will stay this way for much of the match.

However, there is one stage hazard that makes this stage very interesting...

The Truck.

Yeah, you all know the one. That demon truck that chases you down through a good bit of the level. Sometimes, while fighting on this stage, Sonic will appear at the top of the hill, and start running down the road, until he's offscreen (something something alfonso). Shortly after this happens, The truck will appear at the top of the hill. It will come charging down the hill, on either the left lane or the right lane. When it does, get out of the way, because the second it comes into contact with the fighting area proper, anyone it runs over is getting launched. Far. And taking heavy damage to boot.

And if that wasn't ENOUGH, the scaffolding on the side the truck hits will get destroyed when the truck goes flying past, thus making the stage asymmetrical. Don't worry though - after a short while (let's go with... 30 seconds?) the platforms will regenerate.

The truck itself appears at random intervals, although it won't show up while there are currently destroyed platforms. (that is, it cannot appear within 30 seconds of it's last appearance).

Aesthetics: Like I mentioned, there will be city buildings lining the sides of the stage (the white world pic D-idara posted just after my post actually does a pretty good job showing sort of what the stage would look like with the buildings, although the road is a bit thinner than in my version). Beyond that, nothing much in the aesthetic department. Birds will fly around in the background occasionally, but that's just sort of typical bird behavior, nothing noteworthy.

Music:

Awww yeah, time for some sonic music. And in a Wii U round, so that means ALL OF THE SONGS!!!

Escape from the City (Sonic Adventure 2)
City Escape Classic (Sonic Generations)
Metal Harbor (Sonic Adventure 2)
Super Sonic Racing (What's that from, Sonic R?)
Endless Mine (Sonic 3)
G.U.N. Truck (Sonic Adventure 2)

So there you go! The most iconic stage from one of Sonic's most iconic games! I hope you like it!

Oh, also, BTW! For the people who are going to use levels featured on Sonic Generations, I highly recommend using the White World versions of the levels, they usually work well as Smash stages because they're supposed to be a snippet of everything the level has to offer, They're also easy to draw on top and add or remove things, since they're on a very neutral perspective, without crazy angles or anything like that, for example, look at City Escape's:

My response to D-idara's Sonic Generations explination said:
Ahahahahaha- No.
CHEMICAL PLANT ZONE
Chemical Plant.png

This is my Entry, Chemical Plant Zone, from my Favorite Sonic Game, Sonic 2.
Anywho, here's how the stage works. It's fairly simple;
The blue/yellow Pipe Thingy in the center is considered "Solid Ground", and is treated as such.
As for the grey/red/yellow platforms on the side, those fall down once stood on for 'bout 3 seconds.
And here's where the Simple dies in a fire, as we get to the FUN part.
How 'bout that Water.
Sorta like Norfair's Lava, it starts at the bottom and rises up every now and again, but a catch there is. The water can go a little bit Above the stage, and this Water likes to obey Sonic Logic, so you're stuck down there for a little bit.
So what do you do while the Water's high? Gasp for air by jumping above the water, of course!
...Or, y'know, just grab the air bubbles that float up every now and again.
But don't worry, the water only stays for 7-10 Seconds, and you only have 6 seconds of air when you're under.
So what happens when you run out of air? Well, you become dizzy (sheild-break effect) and can be beat to a pulp once the water shortly lowers.
Oh yeah, and the falling platforms go down into the water, and you can't swim in it. Have fun.
And that's basically the Stage, so... onto Music!
Music;
Chemical Plant (Classic) - Sonic Generations
Emerald Beach - Sonic Generations
Terminal Velocity Act 1 - Sonic Colors
Skyscraper Scamper (Day) - Sonic Unleashed
SEGA Carnival - Sonic Riders
And just for kicks;
Living in the City - Sonic R
(Disclaimer; The Water only flows above the stage very, very rarely. You're probably only going to see it once during a 3/4 minute match. Also this Stage also has a FD Form, but I was too lazy to draw it, so just take away the falling platforms/water for that. Copyright SEGA, I don't own this crud.)

I know that it's here..

I sense it in my feet (?)...

That's right, this stage is...

Pumpkin Hill
(From Sonic Adventure 2: Battle)

"Spooky up in here." ~Knuckles, Pumpkin Hill (Full Version, not Looped), SA2B
This stage is Pumpkin Hill, one of Knuckles's stages from Sonic Adventure 2, and it's easily my favorite. I made myself chuckle when I loaded up my game on Steam today to take screenshots.

I like Pumpkin Hill, okay?

Anyhoo, this stage is fairly neutral! You have two floating platforms on the outer-of-middle part of the stage that are connected by a bridge in between. The bridge is a platform that can be dropped and jumped through despite that it looks rather solid.

The pumpkins on the stage act as platforms as well.

There are four pumpkin structures that you can land on. One on either side of the stage, and two below the bridge on the bottom of the stage for lower play or for saves.

Seems pretty docile...

"A ghost tried to approach me and he got leery
I ask him a question and he vanished in a second"

Pumpkin Hill is haunted! Don't forget the ghosts that chased you around and stunned you! They do something similar here.

Atop the pumpkins, the ghosts (The Sonic wiki calls them Boos, but that's just confusing.) will pop out at you on occasion and cause a stunned effect, similar to after your shield breaks (though not as long as that), which can lead to some serious punishment from your opponents, so don't let it get to you. You just gotta creep.

Other than the ghosts, the stage is pretty neutral.

Unlockable? I'd say so. This can be the secondary, unlockable Sonic stage, while Windy Hill (We're going to have many hills. I wonder if Ali Hillis is doing a voice in this game) is unlocked by default.

Live & Learn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGIIei8Yusk
Wild Canyon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx4DfHW0WtM

Thank you based judges for this round. I love Sonic Adventure 2 so much. Since I have it on Steam, getting screenshots and textures this time was way easier than usual.

I'm a little sadface because it actually ended up very similar to my Pokemon entry, platform placement-wise. But I'd sooner change my Pokemon entry than this one. I really like how this one came out, in the end.

Yes, those are the actual lyrics. Echidnas have no ears but feel vibrations in the ground to make up for it in a manner something akin to how a bat "sees". Knuckles apparently retains this trait of his species in his ability to determine the distance of the master emerald, though his using the ability in space is a tad sketchy.

TEMPLATE FOR STAGE SUBMISSION:
Name of Stage
: Star Light Zone
Game of Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Description: Borrowing from the layout of its boss battle, the Star Light Zone contains three seesaw platforms that bounce the other side up when one side is occupied. The stage itself is flat and contains no walls or ceilings. An image of the boss zone may be found here: http://soniczone0.com/games/sonic1/starlight/full/s1-slz-boss1img2full.png (Sonic Zone 0 website)
Gimmicks/Hazards: The stage features three see-saws that can bounce into the air whatever happens to be on the opposite side of the see-saw, including items and other players. Occasionally, Dr. Robotnik (Dr. Eggman) will fly across the stage and drop a random type of bomb onto one of the see-saws (motion sensor, bob-omb, sticky bomb, etc)
Unlockable?: This stage would be unlockable.
Extra: This stage would feature twinkling stars in the background, but maintain its simple and minimalistic design from the original game.
Music would include Star Light Zone from Sonic 1 as the Default music, with alternate tracks including Reach for the Stars from Sonic Colors, Stardust Speedway, from Sonic CD, and Doomsday Zone Act 1, from Sonic & Knuckles.

Since you're all doing Sonic Adventure 2, I'll take Sonic the Hedgehog 2:
Emerald Chase
Game(s) of Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Sonic Rush, Sonic Colours, Sonic 4
Stage Layout:

Description: Emerald Chase is a stage that represents the half pipe special stage found in so many of Sonic's games. Its base design is a rezzed up version of that found in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Pocket Adventure but it incorporates aspects from the other games too. It takes the straight walls near its edges from the Sega Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast, keeping their go faster stripes from that game. These walls are slippery and cannot be stood on for more than a fraction of a second, even as the Ice Climbers.
From the non-handheld Sonic Adventure games comes its chaos emerald design, with this appearing at roughly the 50 second mark and staying until the minute. The emerald is a solid object with a short range anti gravity effect preventing players from using it as a platform (it will never push players straight up so no floating atop it either) and, while it is on screen, all attacks from players will do 20% more damage and knockback.
Once the emerald has disappears, the stage will change colour, simulating the effects of picking up an emerald in Sega Superstars' Sonic minigame and showing off the various recoloured stages seen in most of the games where this level is on offer. This will happen a full 6 times, before the 7th emerald returns the stage to its starting colour.
As in many of the games and especially the PC version of Sonic 3D Blast, the stage will twist and turn and go over hills. Do not worry, this is merely a visual effect and will cause no change to the fight since the camera follows the motion perfectly.
You may see traditional spike balls appear in the background. Watch out, these will hurt you if you're in the wrong place when you catch up to them. The way they spawn gives plenty of warning though and, if items are on, the same will happen with them, taking out most of their surprise element and thus making them a little fairer.
The background is a similar starry sky to that seen in the last levels of Sonic Adventure 2 but does not include the earth and is instead overlayed with semi-opaque diamonds in reference to StH2's secret stage. It should look rather pretty in modern graphics.

Overview: This stage is simple and will likely involve a lot of aerial combat due to its structure making ground fights a tad difficult. This skews it in favour of certain characters but, besides the shape itself, there are very few gimmicks. The chaos emerald rewards players for knowing how to time their finisher but contains no bias and the spikes are so well signposted you're unlikely to hit them without your opponent intervening. Even if you do, their damage is around 8-12% with fairly low knockback so it's hardly the end of the world.

Unlockable: Yes

Click the star in the background of the stage select screen to play on this stage. It can be selected normally after the first use.
Music:
Special Stage (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Bonus Stage (Sonic the Hedgehog 2)
Special Stage (Sonic the Hedgehog 3)
Special Stage US (Sonic CD)
Special Stages (Sonic 3D)
Special Stage (Sonic 3D Blast Saturn Ver.)
Special Stage 1 (Sonic Heroes)
Special Stage 2 (Sonic Heroes)
Special Stage (Sonic Advance 3)
Special Stage (Sonic Colours DS)
Special Stage (Sonic Generations 3DS)
Special Stage (Sonic Lost World)

*looks a few posts up* Hello there.
Chemical Plant Zone doesn't count IMO. You've done a pretty good job of representing it but the location is still the most obnoxiously unplayable Sonic level ever and one that I will always hate for that reason. It's also apparently the basis of a Lady Gaga song but we can all ignore that I hope.

So much lost change.

What I wouldn't give for a Sky Sanctuary stage... Well, stage creation takes effort, so this is nothing but a passing thought.

I think you forget the endless amounts of Bottomless Pits, Blind Jumps and Crushing Blocks that was the Sonic Advance series.
THAT was obnoxious.

Landing on the near edge of a platform moving away from you and skidding straight off the other, losing money to an arcade machine in the process was on a whole 'nother level from anything SA1, 2 or 3 threw at me. Even my SA3's sporadic save wiping (I think it may have been a fake cartridge) didn't compare.

Stage Name: City escape Tour
Game: Sonic adventure 2

Description:
This stage will take place on top of the infamous G.U.N Truck, giving you a tour of City escape. It's pretty much the WiiU version of the spirit tracks stage except your on a big truck traveling at high speed and this truck is going to make stops at places like These:

(The best pictures I could find sorry)

The way it works is that the car will slow down and the screen will hover over to the side while the truck is parked on the left side of the stage while battling in front of it. Once it is ready to leave it will rev up its engine and the screen will start moving to the moving to the right, same with the truck. when the truck is moving slowly fighters getting in the way will get a small hit from it but obviously at high speed it will do more damage. The truck doesn't makes stops a lot. For a regular 2 minute match, the usual amount of stops will be like 1-2 and each stop will last like 35 seconds.

Truck Layout:

Sorry about the ****ty drawing but I jsut wanted to set up the layout. plus im terrible at drawing.

This is a nice example of one of the possible truck stops. Just imagine the Truck parked on the left side of this picture.
Hazards for this particular spot would have cars coming in from the background so make sure to stay out of the way.
Also this is pretty much the background of the whole stage while traveling with Truck. But you'll know when the truck is coming to a stop once you see different buildings and such changing up once getting closer to the next stop to make it look like the truck is actually going somewhere.

Hazards:
These robots will be your main hazards, they will come in and shoot you up, but you can destroy them if they are within reach, they sometimes can drop items for a reward when destroying them just like from Sonic Adventure when they would drop these little things that you feed to the chao in the chao garden but this is smash so its better to replace it with items.

And then the truck doing damage when you are hitting the front part when going in front of it.

Sometimes the Truck will crash into some buildings and some building structure will be falling onto the back part of the truck so watch out for that.

Boss Hazard: Flying Dog

So this one will be less annoying than the yellow devil in Wily Castle, the stage is bigger this boss isn't in your face and all it does is hover in the air and shoot the fighters. This boss hazard will hover around the background firing missiles and laser beams. It will then come in to either the left or right side of the stage. Once this boss comes in, the truck doesn't make stops unless its destroyed or the Flying Dog eventually leaves.

Once this boss is defeated it will crash on top of the truck then it creates the same explosion as the yellow devil has once its defeated and obviously who ever deals the finishing blow to this boss will not get hurt from the explosion. So if you didn't destroy the Flying Dog, make sure you avoid the crash landing.

Features:
This stage can either be set in the day or in the night.
Once its set in the night it will have some references to Speed Highway from Sonic adventure!
Once set in the night, it will still have the same Truck stops but it will have an additional spot.

The robo cops will appear in this truck stop only.
