Frankly, I'm in love with this game. Not only is creating the creatures immensely fun, but also the fact that my creatures are going to be populating other people's games is cool to think about.

If you guys upload your creatures to Sporepedia, you ought to link to your profiles so I can start downloading 'em.

I tried to create Dr. Zoidberg, but I failed when the tentacles didn't work so well. I need try more.

Anyone know if you can resize the girth of legs? I want to make thicker or thinner legs.

Also, I am contemplating making Monster Rancher stuff. That series was so much fun for me. Finally, do all the creatures you make populate your world or what?

Yep. Use the mousewheel while your cursor is over one of its joints and that part of the leg will grow/shrink.

So i made some guys in spore and if you wanta see them there right in this link anyway i've found a major problem. Know1 has any new ideas i though i was cool making some pokemon and some are really good but in the first 24 hours of the game being out 200,000 creatures are up and most are rip offs of
: invader zim, pokemon, digimon, transformers, harry potter, halo, sonic, mario, and you get the idea so if you have heard of this game then you know your world will be full of other peoples creations and so it look like im going to be fighing the harry potter tribe then be moving on to the master cheif and not fighting anything orignal. and it makes me sad.

Please use proper grammar if you wish to be taken as more concerned than you are sounding now. Anyways, I'm sure you will fight creatures that resemble other series, but isn't that the fun of it all? You could go up against a clan of Poliwags first, then move on to a clan of Cream the Rabbits! This game, I have recently gotten into it, and I'm downloading the Spore Creature Creator as I type (54% done) (55% done)! I'm really excited to see what I can cook up in this genetics kitchen of wonderment.

Also, this game comes out in September, correct?

You should be able to do this with the creatures spine too, as well as any other parts you stick on it. Eyes or feet or wings or whatever.

I wish they made some alternative control scheme for laptops, though. It's a pain having to plug in my USB mouse every time I want to use the Creature Creator, and I'd much prefer to just use my little eraser nub.

You know, you'll be able to ban creatures from your game. Or you can limit your creatures to just the ones you get from friends, or just the ones off the disk the game comes with, which will have at least a few hundred on it. I'm pretty sure the people at Maxis did this so people could avoid having giant ***** monsters in their games, but these options should serve your needs just fine too.

It depends how big it is, and how much parts you've put on it.

It shouldn't take more than about 30-40 secs, unless it's massive.

Well, most of the time my creature creator works, but sometimes, on some of the more complex creatures, the game will just freeze when I try to save my creature. My computer can easily handle every one of the specifications, the only aspect where it's kind of close is my 2.2 Ghz processor.

Also, can you download creatures from screenshots, not just the thumbnails? If that's the case, this wouldn't be that much of a problem for me because I could just take a screenshot and import it into my game if I want to edit it.

You can only get them from the 128x128 thumbnails from your game files or Sporepedia.

I don't think you can see them glide in the editors, only in the actuall game.

I didn't think there was the ability to make creatures that fly. Heard it (along with fully evolved aquatic monsters) might be saved for an expansion pack.

Yeah, there were flying and swimming creatures in one early demo, but it looks like they removed that, probably because of bugs or something. Though creatures can glide (and float) in our versions of the game.

If you put wings on them, you can click on their "float" skill (top right corner in the editor) to make them jump straight in the air and stay there a bit. It doesn't look terribly interesting, but it's cool for dragonflies and such. You can do it in the basic editor as well, but the only wings that you can put on only give +1 flying, so you'd need to put at least 3 on before you get anything that looks bigger than a jump.

You can control whether other creatures by users are allowed to populate your world, and as far as I know, you can ban creatures too. Shouldn't be much of a problem.

The reason I find evolution disgusting is that goes against God creating us as humans.

The only reason why I bother considering playing this game is the Creature Creator mode. Maybe I can just treat the whole thing as fake and try to enjoy it? I still need to see more of the features in this game before I can consider good enough that I can forget about the evolution thing.

I'm sorry, I just have a very hard time seeing why people believe something that is simply a book. They have no physical proof that anything but the strict historical and geographical (Just the locations and kings) as leverage.

It's like... saying every fantasy book ever written is a non-fiction book. And personally, as a current pastafarian, I'm offended by creationist theory. Touché.

And seriously, humans < everything else imo. This is one reason I enjoy the Donkey Kong series more than any other. The other great apes are in charge now, and the game isnt glorifying of the human race, or ignoring all the attrocities humans have commited upon this world.

We were by no means created to rule this world, especially not by a single being. I certainly hope you dont consider the fact that our DNA is 1/8 different than that of Chimpanzees to be coincidence...
