we got room banned from tournament listings

the normal ban i got was just from infractions that piled up
still banned from tournament listings for like 3/4 more days

I fully agree. I honestly didn't see much of a problem with Virgilijus or anyone else either. People acted like ****s to Edrees too, and I'll never understand why.

Same with wanting Atlus or anyone else who was cool to be a mod. People act like he would completely drop the rules and let people spam and troll and censor dodge and link to porn, as if he wasn't going to get his mod powers taken from him after a week.

Honestly I assumed people would start to dislike Fly for "turning into one of them" but apparently it has gone in a different direction.

i think it's more now pac west realizes there are going to be mods no matter what, and at least fly is cool/goes to stuff etc and will speak his mind about problems and tell you what he's going to do.

cause in the end, if you are going to be modded no matter what, might as well pick someone who is cool, you like, and you know won't do anything dumb. kinda like at jobs, i loved cool bosses, and they'd let things slide sometimes (though some of my fav bosses were hard ***** but still cool). so in this case, at least fly is known/liked/respected

i can't speak for other people about the mods
but i don't have a problem with mods

i'm not trying to link to porn/gratuitously censor dodge/whatever else

i just think that some people are better mods than others

mostly because they are open about their job

not meaning to threadjack but is the premium member stuff still being overhauled or something? I PM'ed Virgilijus or w/e sometime back after my payment went through and I was told that someone exploited the membership and now they are changing it or something.

you guys have to admit though

this place could use some moderating.

MLG is having a problem with their paypal accounts. We have Kirby King and JV trying to talk to them to get access and fix it, but it's a slow process. If you just hold onto the receipt/proof of purchase, once we get the paypal accounts I'll add you.

Well I play both games. I guess I just don't know LoL too well. Played it sporadically here and there and the game seemed really busy and team based rather than individual laning skill. I know L from norcal plays too

I usually do it for the names, but some of them have certain champions on them.

The nice thing about having a mod that also goes to tournies is that you can take it out on them when you meet them in the bracket!

You can't do that with that metal guy cause he don't go to ****

It's true what kira said, had I been a mod then I would have enforced the rules! At the time, we needed an active mod, fortunately we got Fly!

I think there is also a strong argument for having a mod that ISN'T active in smash gatherings. A mod that's not active in real life won't have to worry about members hounding them in person about infractions/bans and therefore would be more neutral and unbiased in doing his job as a moderator. Correct me if I'm wrong but smash knowledge, skill, and activeness should have little to no effect on moderating an online discussion board that is not even about smash in most cases. All that is required from moderators is for them to implement fairness and the views / direction of the website without obstructing discussion.
