For years, I have been wanting to go to Mexico for smash, so I decided to take a trip down there around summer time this year! Of course it's for a tourny and I hope that others can come down with me! The next big thing that's happening is Smash-Mex X, a tournament series that has been going on for several years now!

I went on to Mexico's smash website, smash-mex.com , and told people that I will be going down there and hopefully bringing others with me! They seemed excited about it and people started to send me PMs on who else will be coming down! I also got in touch with the tournament host, Lugia Corp, and asked me to keep in touch with him and ask him questions!

isn't mexico dangerous atm cause of the public rise in power of the drug lords

all my teachers during spring break were like, "whatever you do, don't go to mexico"

i'm actually just wondering if anyone else has heard of this

Eddy Mexico told me over the 2GG chat that the tourny will be taking place from July 23-25! I checked over for confirmation and it looks like we're looking at a three day tourny!

tickets cost 400? that's kind of outrageous. you can get take a cruise to puerto vallarta or cabo for around 200-250. i say do that if it's gonna cost that much to fly

Actually, tickets can get cheaper than 400 when you search for them on the right day! Right now, they are $355 for direct flights! $299 if you're willing to make two stops! Anyone know where to get tickets for cheap?

how long are the flights? i would assume like 3-4 hours

It's starting to look that way! There are usually two Smash-Mex tournies every year!

In the Smash Mex 4 (Guadalajara) (2008)
I get like 70 entrants in Melee.

But this time we wait many more entrants, like this is the 10th edition of the National Tournament, other thing is that the entrants are many experienced players, only a little of newbies.
