Smash 4 Speculation Chart [WE UPDATE NOW]

I agree.
Though it seems rather ironic Blue Toad was being added to the chart just to be added while faded out.

So I figure it would be better to just not add Blue Toad at all and let "Toad" represent all Toad options, who is already faded out.

Also, on Advance Wars, Jake will be added since he's the protagonist of Dual Strike, not Andy.


So I guess we move on to the franchises in-between Melee's and Brawl's release, in which here is the list of which series are already on the chart.

I think any series that had content in Brawl should be kept, but i'm not all that familiar with most of them.

(I hope nobody kidney punches me for this, but I find Starfy boring, and don't want him in Smash at all)

If I said Andy was getting scrapped, I would have outright said it (and Sami too; makes no sense to have her if Andy isn't there).

Moving on. I'd like to nominate the following games for removal:

Tomato Adventure (January 25, 2002)
Eternal Darkness (June 23, 2002)
Sennen Kazoku (March 10, 2005)
Geist (August 15, 2005)
Chosoju Mecha MG (September 2, 2006)
Archaic Sealed Heart (October 4, 2007)

Each of these were one-entry series that have been dead for the past 6-11 years, some of them being available in only one region on top of that. None of these were Assist Trophies in Brawl and have no recognition outside of trophies and stickers. They are easy mark-offs, in other words.

All of those were actually on my list of removal, lol.
As well as Magical Starsign, Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk, and Drill Dozer.
Ouendan/EBA is being considered for removal as well.

As for the additions, the only two that BluePikmin brought up I'm going to include are Brain Age and Nintendogs (I am aware the idea is unlikely; however, it would only be fair to include the option at this point considering the franchise is a big one for Nintendo and has expansive representation in Smash).
EDIT: And no, it's not going to be the Robopup. Just the general Nintendog (Labrador Retriever, like in Brawl) with maybe a joke "Sakurai's Cat" if people aren't up in arms about that.

And yeah, all of those seem like fair removals. They each have their own merits, however, like being an Assist Trophy or having more than one game to their series, so I'll leave that to your judgement. We got the big guns in the form of Chibi Robo and Starfy. That's all I really need.

I'd keep Drill Dozer and Elite Beat/Quedan but remove all the others mentioned.

My reasoning is that Magical Starsign is rather unknown, Cing went bankrupt leaving Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory in limbo, and Drill Dozer is a one-game franchise by GameFreak, who Sakurai notes are hard to negotiate with. If Pokémon is a hassle, I'm not expecting any of their other games to get a character any time soon.

Ouendan/EBA because it is also rather unknown and because it seems a little farfetched even when compared to the Nintendog or Foreman Spike.

Ouendan is Japanese exclusive, EBA, while not American exclusive as of Ouendan's sequel, has three as a team. There also hasn't been a game in the franchise since pre-Brawl.

Eh, it may be an unpopular opinion, but I'd vouch for keeping Tempo on. Solely because Game Freak seems to love referencing it in other places. Heck, an NPC mentions the game in Pokemon Y, for example.

We've gone over how hard Game Freak is to work with for Sakurai. I guess that's why Pikachu doesn't appear in advertising as much as the other big three.

I'm on the fence about Monita. She's got some good potential but I can't help but think those moves may be used by a Mii just as well.
