Perhaps, but I think you're not considering the context.

That is, pokes like Trubbish and Klefki are usually brought up to say that the new gens are uninspired, as if the existence of a few blah mons invalidates the whole gen's roster. And if that were true, then every gen would therefore be stupid because we have the likes of Muk, Stunfisk, Feebas aka Magikarp v2, etc., making the argument silly at best.


But yeah, I love Rowlet's head rotations too much. Especially since it appears to be totally seamless on its model, so his face practically just spins around like goddamn Yeta from Zelda Twilight Princess.

That's what I'm getting at. Each gen has bland or "dumb" Pokemon. Stating the same thing for Gen 1 and 2, just because most people complain about Gen 4 onward. As a counter argument, I think it seems like a petty comeback as opposed to actually convincing someone the new games have good designs.

I don't like Litten or Popplio all that much (not my least favorite starters by any means, but I don't love them).

Rowlet, though... Rowlet is fantastic. Love his design, especially the goofy bowtie.

My favorite Pokemon has pretty much always been Sableye. Don't know why, exactly, but I absolutely love him.
Least favorite is Probably either... Elektross, or Emboar. I hate their designs, they come from my least favorite region, and Emboar completely ruins Tepig and Pignite, who I actually really like.

Litten looks very plain.
Popplio looks stupid, but I want to believe that it evolves into a cool thing.

Gallade has been my favorite Pokemon since his debut. I'm a huge fan of its design, being a badass swordsman who utilizes arm blades combined with psychic powers. The Mega only deepened my love for the dude. As of now, I always use a Gallade on my story team for every Pokemon game it's available in.

Least favorite Pokemon? Tough call, but I'd probably have to go with Vanilluxe. The design looks rather dull and uninspired to me.

Popplio has actually really grown on me, it's really cute and expressive, especially in official artwork. He looks like a starter Pokemon moreso than the other two, imo.

That said, I still like Rowlet better.

One thing that bugs me about Popplio is that Samurott totally should've been its final evolution, since it never really made sense for Oshawott. On the other hand, since Oshawott's line had the samurai motif, and Froakie's had the ninja motif, I'm really hoping Popplio's has a pirate motif. It would fit with the tropical island setting for the new region, too.

Of course, I'm still Litten all the way. Surprising for me, since I rarely ever pick fire type starters.

Watch as it becomes a clown and turns out to be an actually competent Pokemon, enough to get in OU.

The final types of the starters may have been leaked, well, considering the source it's very well it has leaked. If you go to http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/sun_moon/pokemon/partner_01/ and then go to the image of the Types, like this: http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/sun_moon/pokemon/images/icon01.png and you change the 01 into 04 and 06, you'll get Ground and Fighting. So I think we'll see Grass/Flying, Fire/Ground and Water/Fighting

The CoroCoro Sun and Moon trailer accidentally revealed a new Pokemon, similar to how Ganondorf was indirectly confirmed in one of the later Smash 3DS trailers.

Here's a close up of that Pokemon.

What do you all think it is? Many seem to think it could be a dog-like Pokemon. I have the impression it could be a goat Pokemon. Those horns give me that vibe, not to mention it looks like it may have hooves.

EDIT: Actually, I take back what I said about the goat. After browsing some comments on Pokebeach and taking a second look at the Pokemon, it doesn't look like a goat at all. Those red horns are actually the boy's shoes.
