Smash Lord
Jumps can be shortened 2 frames if the aerial comes out the first available frame. For example, with Fox:
Frame 0 - Jump
Frame 1 -
Frame 2 -
Frame 3 - NAIR = SH + NAIR on the next frame
Obviously people have been doing this accidentally for a long time in the course of SHFFLing well, but I don't know if people are actually aware of the effect it has. I did some searches, found nothing.
The quicker your character jumps, the more useful this is. With Fox, during a perfect SHFFL'd NAIR that comes out on the first available frame, Fox is airborne for 13 frames. A SHFFL'd NAIR with every other NAIR timing has Fox airborne 15 frames, so doing a frame-perfect NAIR makes Fox airborne for 13.33% fewer seconds. The entire SHFFL NAIR cycle takes 23 frames or 25 frames depending on timing, for an 8% reduction.
You can do some really fast SHFFLs like this
But like all 1-frame techs, consistency is difficult.
