I couldn't tell you as I have no intention of doing it myself but afaik quite a few people have done it and play Wi-Fi regularly.

There you go. A hackless method exists if you have no intention of hacking your Wii.

Works pretty well (way better than it did in the beginning), it's pretty easy to set up imo, and there's still some good competition in this thread and at DBDI (though not as much of course).
