The only news Sakurai has given us in regard to Smash Bros. on Twitter is him defending Namco Bandai Games (as the Smash Bros. WiiU and 3DS developer), post and write about that whiteboard picture his development team drew for the whole world to see, and that popularity poll in that one Japanese magazine.

It's just a single consonant sound that is the same as the "t" in "water." It isn't "Wahd-ehr" it is "Wah[r]-ehr"

A fun name to practice with is Marisa, but then I'm a touhou fanatic. It should sound not quite like Mehrldisa.
