I think people are just realizing the second layer doesn't hold anything of interest after all. Anything, even the slightest track or item shown that was not listed, would have surfaced by now.

I'm sorry that I haven't updated in a bit. As I mentioned before, real life has been getting in the way. I took a bunch of pics of the different folders within the main data folder. I also deciphered as to what partition was what (for the most part). I put them in a folder & put them on mediafire

Who is "\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_pra_mai.pac" suppose to be. Also, could this characters come back via a VC download?

at the very beginning of the "smashbros_sound.brsar" file, it has the file format "RSAR" mentioned. Not sure if this will help at all, thought I'd mention it.

You can playback the cinematics in mplayer 1.0rc2.
You can encode (convert them) with mencoder. look for mecoder GUI's if you're not familiar with the program.

SAMaine came up with an interesting theory in another topic that the files for character such as Mewtwo, Roy, and Dr. Mario may be in their counterparts folder (ie. Doc's is in Mario's, Roy's in Marth's, and Mewtwo's in Lucario's). Can you search through these files?

Now assuming that this list is accurate, then we should assume that Zelda, Bowser, and Wario are hosting most of the files for Sheik, Giga Bowser, and Wario-Man respectfully. Notice which characters on the list are close by TO Zelda, Bowser, and Wario...

R.O.B, Meta Knight, Fox, Falco, and Pit are the characters with the most info in the effects.
Lucario (who is most likely to double for Mewtwo) is only 2080 less than Zelda.
Marth (who is most likely to double for Roy) is 608 more than Bowser
Diddy (who is most likely to double for Dixie) is 3360 more than Wario
Mario (who is most likely to double for Dr. Mario) is 6880 less than Wario.

What this means is that the seven could only really need a Kirby Hat, a Final Smash, and being unlocked to be playable! It's definately worth investigating!

Weird, she has different moves, but well, that sounds really interesting...

I grew impatient on the disk extraction so I grabbed an copy of the disk and extracted it myself, using Heinermanns .brres extraction tool (found at: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=142971&page=7) I extracted a file called "selchrcd_common_ja.brres" and there are "menu select character face textures" for 47 characters. Which is 1 more character if you include the fighting polygons in the fighter folder.

What exactly are the "effect" files that have the "forbiden 7" extensions? I'm guessing they are attacks, or something similar. Are these files that can be opened? Should we unleash the code ninjas on this?

I think they might be attacks.

Can those .pac files be further decompressed to, say, let you replace voice clips? I want my 64 Falcon Punch back
The .pac files don't have SFX's, thats the "smashbros_sound.brsar" file.

Ok, thanks to Heinermann's SSBExtract tool & the TPL extractor, I think I've accounted for the "Forbidden 7's" missing texture files

Missing Texture Files

The MenSelchrChrFace files are the small images used on the actual selection screen, like this image below

Cant one of the forbidden 7 files be replace with another character
For example replace roy's file with marth's (since they are both similar) and see what could happen...

i old and know no code...

please can i get assistance in altering the .iso with wiiscrubber to unlock all content on disk so the kids can see the characters altered without downloading cheats or saves.

(i have wiikey install and own brawl ,i play with the image file i dumped of my original copy, i use texthacks that way, but we have not completed the game and do not wish to alter our save or remove it )

yeah i know all about the SD way but i choose to burn the image instead and/or USBload the image created.
