You can SDI jab locks either behind the person jabbing or further away from them so that they can't reach you for the next hit. You can also SDI towards the edge so that they dont get as many hits on you before they have to end it.

You just need to choose the option most suitable to the circumstances. SDI behind the jab locker usually shouldn't work though, because they can just as easily turn around.

Could always stuff up though, not everyone is prepared for a SDI backwards.

Pretty sure you pay for the price of one to enter all three tournaments, + venue fee and doubles (if you're entering them)

It's $5 total for all tourneys (low, mid, high). They are not separate.
Your points or W/E from each are then added up into a total for the day and whoever has the most overall wins....

Excluding doubles if they even happen, they're separate obviously.
Also Chu I wish you were coming as well.
I think this is the first interstate tourney I've been at that you haven't been at. </3

If you don't have a problem with voicing your opinion about the tournament setup, then you shouldn't have a problem with somebody disagreeing with you either. Or is simply disagreeing with somebody grounds for being labelled overly defensive?

Something to consider: saying that you pity new members coming to this tournament is hardly helping the scene. It is actively creating the impression that they are coming to something that they aren't going to enjoy, simply because you happen to have a preference for another tournament setup.

So whilst your post was fairly brief and you certainly didn't say "IT'S SO ****", you still managed to convey a message that is more than a simple statement of preference. I wasn't responding to that element at all in my own post though; I was simply disagreeing with your stance. Just thought I'd throw this in as something to think about.

I guess you weren't being that defensive about it, just seeing 2 people saying pretty much the same thing one after another made it seem defensive, as you could surely understand. Also considering that any time you address me now it seems to be to correct me and tell me why I'm wrong Toby, but that's niether here nor there, and I don't want to argue with you about that.

If I offended any new people who've never been to a tourney before and prolly have no idea how it works anyway so wouldn't even know what I'm talking about, or even those who've never been to a full fledged tier tourney before, then I apoligise to all of you. Sorry if I "hurt the scene".

Also about the money thing that was a couple of pages back, I don't mind the pot going towards thriller, but if someone asks "where is my money going" I think they have a right to know. Anyone got any problems with me saying that? I'm sure you will have.

Arrive early.
low and mid tier start at the same time as early as possible.
Once TVs start to become available an ad hoc decision is made on whether to run doubles or move onto high tier.

Yes, and they're confirmed as coming, so far with about 8 people, potentially more, as they've only just announced it to their community. They're bringing their own setups for sf4, etc.

Also, they're charging $20 for their community. :S


Note I'm also trying to run BB on the day, separately from the ozh people. But that's prolly just gonna be casuals, no tourney unless I get a lot of interest.
