@Gawain
First post has been secondary to the tables on post #3. I'll probably look at updating it SOON.

Coincidentally, I just updated the third post with this page's results. @ Zigsta Zigsta a bowser or two I didn't accept as tournament size or player pool were local level.

Espy, Wizzrobe, Poke dropped out of top 60 but I believe still have relevant first degree victories (so they won't be dropping, Espy may next month?).
Tweek reenters top 60.
VaBengal and SS entered top 60; both moving from degree 2

Because Samus is so broken and deserves nerfs. Sakurai please.

NERF•SAMUS
Same can be said for Xzax LOL, beats rich brown with fox then loses to Jwest's samus with fox and mario

@ Shaya Shaya I'm still wondering how Zenyou is a 2nd degree when he's made top 3 at LTC3 which was a national and hes taken many many sets off of all those degree 1 players?

also i dont have the brackets on me right now since im on mobile but a few weekends ago
Angbad :4olimar:beat K9 :4sheik:(angbad is down in total sets), Rich Brown :4olimar:, (also down in total sets)
S2H :4metaknight: has beaten Rich Brown :4olimar:about 3-4 times this past month (richbrown still up in total set counts)

Just in case the previously posted Bowser tournament was too small, I have another addition to submit!

Trevonte beat both AeroLink and Denti at Evo.

And then--

http://challonge.com/MADE10Singles

Big Sean's Bowser beat Trevonte. It's definitely a slightly larger tournament than Lord Mix's.

If both submissions count, then it sounds like it's time to discuss exact procedure in who exactly gets replaced in list of 5 maximum entrants.

Marrs :4zss: beat Myran:4olimar: - Dunno if this is relevant due to size of tournament or whatnot, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

Question: Why is @Regi_King not on this for G&W due to Evo? Just wondering, as I have not been following the thread.
I needed a relevant connection and I'm not sure who he beat/where because I don't have a bracket image (it's not on the upload on smashboards).

I think I had the angbad result, but not S2H.
Also zenyou is currently 63rd on the rankings. It's close but no cigar. I may expand top 60 to something higher (if it was top 72, johnnumbers would be happy; lol), but until then the only way to get in there is breaking top 60 or some sort of reputable national rankings come in (i.e. Rain).

I THOUGHT YOU KNEW THIS!!

I've been thinking about it though and perhaps a middle ground between degree 1 and 2 could exist. Alternatively I was going to start putting those with many degree 1 wins towards the top of the table.

Trevonte is like the hardest person to place because he uses 50 different characters :p
Do you know who he beat Denti/AeroLink with?

Not sure about AeroLink, but I know he beat Denti with Fox. I can imagine he's tricky to place, haha.

Okay, revisiting Diddy/Sheik:

Results wise within the US, it's likely Vinnie > False > K9/VoiD.
Is Nyanko still active/doing well? I haven't heard as many results from him lately.

So
NA: ZeRo, Vinnie
EU: Ramin
JP: Rain

For Sheik those seem relatively well agreed upon. Are False' results with Sheik in recent times well known?
And J!/Shu's sheik results within japan, Shu has victories over Abadango from what I know but little else. J! has a victory over Ranai but I don't have many other details on him either.
I hear a lot of great things for Edge but don't know who he's beaten recently, being 3rd on Umebura is pretty indicative but fleshing information out would be nice.

-

Diddy:
NA: ZeRo, MVD, Angel Cortez

Having Zinoto/JTails as well makes sense but I have little results/information on them, Fliphop is Texas' best Diddy and I believe is still getting strong results too.

Edge's recent results: 2nd at Hyper Sumabato (Victory over Gomamugicha, M2_Kento, Aki, FILIP, Ginko, lost to Ranai) 1st at Sumabato 4 (Victory over Hare, Octo, Akix2, 9B, Saiyax2, J!). Definitely the highest priority Sheik to be listed for Japan aside from Rain.

False got 13th at EVO, at which Vinnie got 25th, beating 8Bitman (Degree 1 victory) and Bloodcross (who beat Vinnie in losers) to get there. He took 3rd at the recent Nebulous weekly in NY which had over 150 entrants (170ish iirc?), beating John Numbers twice and Snakeee then narrowly losing 3-2 to Dabuz.

Smaller sample size but his results and skill level are definitely enough to match Vinnie's I'd say. Whatever degree you place them in should be the same.

Vinnie has beaten Larrylurr, K9, Dabuz, Mr. ConCon......the list goes on. Thats alot of degree 1s.

Also I think Larry's sheik should be added to that list. Alot of his wins and placements are with sheik.

Was kind of shocked to see CaptAwsum not on this list. He should be rank 2 based on his results at KTARXIII alone. Not to mention getting top 25 at EVO.

At KTARXIII (July tourney) CaptAwsum beat: Keitaro, John Numbers, and Tweek.
Bracket:
http://challonge.com/kxs

And if he makes it back into the list, then this weekend's results at a big NE regional GUMS 2 show that BelaC (one of the strongest in NE) should be notable.

Ranai should be listed in Tier 1 now after winning Umebura 18 and Hyper Sumabato this month. Edge should be in tier 2 (at least) after placing 1st and 2nd in last two Sumabatos.

I got them both accounts so I'm sure at least Ranai will be Top 60 next update.

Are there alternative rankings for Ranai's particular region? IIRC he was #1 on a non-umebura ranking.
Otherwise I don't feel comfortable breaking form. Degrees aren't necessarily meant to mean difference in 'ability' just how they're connected through a web of interactions.

Edge doesn't have wins on Nietono, Abadango or Rain that I'm aware of, which are Japan's degree 1s atm.

Edge doesn't have wins on them because he is in Kansai and those 3 are in Kanto. Ranai is the only one that consistently travels to both regions. But anyway, the big tournament in September (Umebura F.A.T.) is coming up, and both regions will be there. Also, there will be an international guest to test them, none other than Ally.

What have CaptAwsum's placings been since EVO? Considering that customs are pretty much universally banned worldwide at any tournament that actually matters, it would be silly to put him on the list when he has never had any results with a default Villager to my knowledge. There are plenty of players who used custom sets in tourneys where they were legal, but also have good placings in non-customs tourneys (e.g. John Numbers). CaptAwsum only has good placings in customs-legal tourneys, and only when using a set with customs on.

Tearbear beat Nietono's Mii Brawler and Sheik so that loss should not be "credited" to his Fox.

Larry, MegaFox, Nietono and Semifer are the top 4 Fox players imo. The latter does have a couple of results but I'm not entirely sure if they are easily available or not. And even if they are I figure they'd be hard to use because they're probably not on a challong bracket ... would be rad if @Yikarur could help us here!
