I can't imagine that's true. Isaac has always been the face of the series, and the most popular character from it.

The only problem I have with Felix being an alt for Isaac is that Felix's sword sheath is worn on his hip, whilst Isaac's sword is worn on his back. Thus, Felix's sword attacks would likely have different animations from Isaac--unless they changed Felix's model to have his sword on the back as well. That said, if Felix did get in Smash, I think he'd be more interesting as a Luigified clone of Isaac/Matthew.

Mentioning the sword has got me thinking that we should probably get rid of it in our pictures when requesting votes for Isaac. If people see a sword on him, then they might believe he is just another generic sword user. Having him without a sword would get people curious on what he could do (for those who do not know the Golden Sun series).

He could be slower but stronger, like in TLA, and gave the stronger earth psynergey, like Oddyssey and such, since Isaac doesn't get those moves in GS1.

I think Ragnarok could be a Neutral B charge up move, or potentially Isaac's F Smash. I also thought of an idea to do a weapon 'howl' as in Golden Sun through a Down Smash. Isaac would leap with a jumping strike sort of similar to Link's dash attack, but when charging up it could be the Gaia Blade's unleash.
However, I think that one of Isaac's Specials is most likely going to be Move, considering it's his Assist Trophy attack in Brawl...

Yeah, I feel like Move would be a good Side-B special. Its alternates could be Force and Lift, if you wanted something more damaging, or something with more launching. I've actually been working on my what I'd want Isaac's moveset to be lately, though trying not to limit it just to Venus psynergy; especially since with my playstyle, my characters usually end up with each other's elements (I'm partial to having Isaac be an Illusionist for a good chunk of the game). Plus, you can always equip Isaac with Douse and Frost as well. But, I feel the biggest reason would be to just showcase all the different kinds of psynergy from the games, not unlike how Robin has dark magic even though he can't learn it as a tactician, and how Ness and Lucas use their companions' Psi Abilities.

Am a little concerned that if Isaac gets in, he might not have the moveset or playstyle that I want... But I'll live with whatever Sakurai can create out of Isaac, as long as he gets in and garners the attention and support for GS4.

Something in mine gut just tells me that if Isaac does make it in Smash, he will be mine main no doubt. I had the same exact feeling about Robin.

Hmm... I think I have an interesting question for you guys, what sword would they him from Golden Sun? I ask because with other sword characters they gave them their most iconic weapons; Link with the Master Sword, Marth with Falchion, Lucina with her Falchion, Ike with the Ragnell and Shulk with the Monado. And I forget what weapons Isaac could use in Golden Sun, its been ages since I last saw the Original Golden Sun.

The thing is Isaac has no specific sword related to him, however, I guess the fanbase usually associates Isaac with Gaia Blade or Sol Blade.

Isaac doesn't have too much of an iconic weapon. Maybe the Gaia Blade, maybe the Sol Blade. Both would make him look pretty badass.
The leaked Projext M gifs showed him with some kind of two-handed pirate's sabre, SSF2 gave him a run-of-the-mill sword, probably the one we saw in his sheath on his trophy in Brawl.
Personally, I'd love the Sol Blade. Its design in Dark Dawn was pretty neat, and a larger, say heavier, weapon would probably make Isaac even more unique, seeing how the cast is lacking some character between Marth and Ike, speedwise.
And since we don't have Chrom to fill in that gap, Isaac may as well.

Regardless of how Isaac turns out, he'd likely be my #1 main. There are a lot of characters in the series that I absolutely love, but ever since he was teased as an assist trophy in Brawl, I've wanted him more than anything.
Anyway, I actually worked out how I'd want a moveset to look for the most part because I guess I have nothing better to do today. (Even though I totes do! Oops!) I didn't fill in everything (nor did I place any hypothetical damage values) since I couldn't think of what should go in a few places. I-it's probably not perfect or anything, but I tried!

F-Smash (Spire): A rock spire stabs out of the ground diagonally.
U-Smash (Gaia): Rocks fly out of the ground from beneath Isaac, rising above his head.
D-Smash (Thorn): Large spiked vines grow out of the ground to the left and right of Isaac. They're stronger in the direction Isaac is facing.
Grab: Uses the psynergy "Catch". Should be self-explanatory.
-Aerial Moves-
N-Air (Gale): Surrounds Isaac with a whirlwind for a brief moment, dealing minor damage and slightly pushing opponents away.
F-Air: Swings his hand and creates a fiery explosion.
B-Air: Swings his hand behind himself and creates a fiery explosion. Takes a little longer to use than his F-Air.
U-Air: ??
D-Air (Planet Diver): Strikes toward the ground with a fiery sword attack, similar to Sheik's, Zero Suit Samus's, and Sonic's D-Air.
-Specials-
Neutral-B
1. Rockfall: Isaac charges up psynergy, and then causes large rocks to fall in front of him.
2. Douse: Isaac makes it rain! It can be charged quicker than Rockfall, but deals less damage and knockback overall.
3. Thunderclap: Takes longer to charge and only strikes down with one large thunderbolt, but deals stronger damage and knockback.
Side-B
1. Move: Summons a large, spectral hand that moves forward, pushing back foes and and reflecting projectiles.
2. Force: Summons a fist instead that deals damage and does considerable knockback, and destroys projectiles.
3. Lift: Two hands appear and close in on each other, and upon grabbing an opponent, launches them into the air.
Up-B
1. Growth: Summons vines that carry Isaac up into the air. Vines deal minimal damage to those who touch them.
2. Mad Growth: Summons even more vines, giving more horizontal movement, but reducing how high it sends Isaac.
3. Punji: Bamboo sprouts up very quickly, and while dealing no damage to those who touch it, gives Isaac greater aerial distance and movement.
Down-B:
1. Quake: Isaac charges up psynergy, and then strikes the ground, creating an earthquake around him (similar to Donkey Kong's, but can't be done constantly.)
2. Frost: Creates a pile of ice around Isaac instead, that freezes opponents and throws them straight up into the air a bit.

I could honestly see them just giving him a plain old light blade, since the main focus of his moveset will probably be his psynergy. And, like above posters have said, there is no real iconic weapon related to Isaac. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if they used the Sol Blade's model from Dark Dawn. Personally, I would love for Isaac to use the Sylph Rapier.

I'm really glad that this thread is seeing so much support and enthusiasm since the poll's announcement! It's great.
On the topic of Isaac, last night I dreamt that I had to do all my school exams again, but one question that I had to write out a mini-essay for was something akin to "What would be some of the problems Nintendo would encounter on the release of an Isaac amiibo?" I think the general consensus here is that there will be a stampede.

Yeah those both would work, although the Gaia Bade maybe better for Isaac because it's the 'ultimate weapon' in his game.

I did not buy any amiibo as of yet and neither do I plan on buying one out of the current and upcoming collection.
Though I'd definitely end up paying one of those "Oh-god-I'll-so-regret-this"-prices for an Isaac amiibo. And I'd probably cry manly tears once I hold in in my hands.

I'm certain the scalpers would get to them before I could get one for myself... I barely got Mega Man, and was pretty much hopeless on anything else that was sought after and ran out in about... 3-7 minutes.

If Isaac does get an Amiibo, I hope the one I buy is defected, so I can sell it to an insane collector for a ridiculous price (like the Samus Amiibo with the double arm cannons).

Isaac is like, the #1 shoe-in for potential newcomer DLC amirite? He is SO DESERVING! Golden Sun WAS the gameboy advance. Everyone was playing that ****. And his assist was removed!
We've already got some similar characters.. but throw in some summons, the djinn, and earth powers (earth powers!) and you've got one heck of a unique moveset.
I am a full fledged supporter and Isaac got my vote. Maybe I should find myself a copy of Golden Sun 3...

I have two words for you:

NO ONE is a shoe-in. Except for Wolf, the only reason I say Wolf is because there's absolutely nothing stopping him from getting in and is an easy veteran.
Isaac is among the more likely DLC candidates right now. King K. Rool is currently the #1 newcomer based on everything we've been seeing, but Isaac consistently hits it high, usually within the top 5 on most online polls, and the polls vary so wildly. K. Rool and Isaac are the main consistencies, which makes it look very, VERY good.
But he is -not- a shoe-in, no one (except Wolf) is.
My wife has Dark Dawn. I plan to play it once Lost Age gets on Wii U. Though if they add Dark Dawn to Wii U VC I'll buy that as well just to support Golden Sun.I never played Dark Dawn...

If Isaac amiibo gets released, I would pre-order it and get it for free with a gift card I have here.
In my opinion, Dark Dawn was still a pretty good and fun game to play. The main drawbacks were: it was waaay to easy, you're characters would get buffed as hell due to the ridiculous amount of xp late-game monsters give; they added new plot mysteries, instead of solving the ones that were already there, also, the game ended in a F***ING CLIFFHANGER!!! Your 2 late team members were also kinda rushed...
But despite those flaws, Golden Sun Dark Dawn was still a pretty fun and enjoyable game, so if I had to rate it I would say:

Dark Dawn gets a lot of bad reputation it doesn't deserve. It suffers from a well known phenomenon in gaming, the fact that it doesn't stack up all too well against its predecessors. Take for example Super Paper Mario. A game I really enjoyed for what it was, it just was no TTYD.
Dame thing happened here. While some things about `Dark Dawn are just straight up unnecessary, looking at you, Points of No Return, the general feeling is definitely still there.
I played iot for the third time pretty recently and it was worth every second. It's most definitely a Golden Sun game. And while suffering from a few obvious flaws, it's still one of the best games the DS had to offer. So many nostalgic moments, great puzzle design and quite a few memorable soundtracks make the game, for me that is, far better than people make it out to be.
That's just my two cents. Everyone who had fun with the original games would at least enjoy Dark Dawn.

The funny thing is people nowadays jump around and state Dark Dawn sold badly (true), wasn't well-received (false, it just was comparatively worse) and had low reviews (completely false, it had very high reviews).
