Help with approaching?

Falling for constant spot dodges isn't a CF approach problem. The problem is your overall gameplay. You would succumb to that tactic even with MK. You need to throw in A LOT more feints. You obviously never jab which is one of Falcon's best moves. A decent way to approach is a well spaced fast fall Uair to Jab/Grab (Mix it up to avoid shield grabs).

But like it has already been said. CF is also just a terrible character. The best option would be "Don't approach", but that is almost impossible with a character with 0 ranged attacks.

i know that it isnt just CF, its that im not that great.
but its good to know how to counter it when its needed.

You need to use more than just one approach with falcon.

A good one can either be a shorthop Up Air or a dash -> shield -> grab.

dash attack can be a good move to, but it is punishable on shield/ block. Be careful With it.
