you're less likely to mislynch someone if you know their metagame, so yeah i'd say to some degree you are more likely to mislynch a player whose meta you don't know.

Because what seems to happen every game on SWF is that someone puts a foot wrong, they get strung up for it, and we spend 3 Days picking up the pieces. if badwolf is scummy, i'm pretty sure im going to vote him regardless of him 'being badwolf', there's no need to hand-hold someone or give them benefit of the doubt because what you're doing is giving them a chance if they're scum to get away with inherently scummy actions

which is bad, and that same treatment should be made for all players, i really don't understand your approach right now and i find myself confused and alarmed, i feel you're being quite weird, maybe even a bit uncomfortable

You postulate the existence of some sort of principle in the first paragraph where a certain pool of players inevitably becomes the center of attention and gets lynched, dictating the remaining course of the game as a consequence. Criticizing that is fair game. What you do though, is trying to establish an even more questionale principle to counteract such course of action. You're concerned about some people not being treated equally because they are considered "lesser" players but at the same time you actively try to promote unequal treatment yourself. If that's the way you intend to go for the first Day of this game then you'll probably have to accept that you're going to be alone during that time. People will lynch players if they think it's the right thing to do - most of them will probably be wrong most of the time because they lack the skills to make the right call but that's still better than what you suggest. And don't expect people to accept your decision as an excuse should it turn out that one of the players you mentioned flip scum.

Well I disagree that giving a player more room to breathe is somehow letting them 'get away' with things; it's not as if there is anywhere for them to go, they're still going to be under scrutiny.

And I don't know if I agree that you should treat all players exactly the same. I don't think I read everyone the same way, I don't expect the same things from every player.

No, let's be real. Soup, if not sjoupey, is a mislynch waiting to happen just based on however many times he's ended up claiming or getting lynched way sooner than seems possible. I feel pretty confident about reading most people... I had a hard time with marshy last game, but I'm not seeing any kryptonite I have to worry about. It will always depend on who is posting and putting in effort, though.

Personally, I understand Kary's argument, though I wouldn't go so far to eliminate the possibility of lynching them D1. There are players who tend to push questionable reads, or go semi-inactive, or get really flustered when questioned, which leads to their death regardless of alignment. In general, it's important to remember that someone's intent in pushing an argument is more telling of their alignment than their ability to coherently push said argument.

So yeah, I'm calling Kary's stance null for now.
