I loved those entrances, maybe they should had alernate victory music as well [maybe you can use it by holding L or R]. Entrance music would be nice, but it would probably make the match longer to start.

No kidding, the entrances was one of the best parts of the original smash, I have SOME ideas for entrances:

midna/link/zant/ganondorf: In tp, when u warped or something, u were transform into little black squares, well this will happen here, the black squares will form the model of the character, and then they do like a pose or something...
Mach rider: Simple, he rides his Motorcycle trough the stage, then jumps off it when the cycle is still going...
Dark samus: A small phazon meteor craches to the stage, and then dark samus appears...
Wolf: jumps off the wolfen, 'nough said...

man I had mor eideas, I just cant remember them XD...
Good idea! I think Nintendo did a good enough job with the original entrances, maybe we can all help brainstorm some new ones. Now...let'sa see here...

Bowser: Flies in on his Koopa Clown Car, then procedes to jump out as it flies away.
Peach: Has a random entrance(1 out of four) one from each emotion out of Super Princess Peach.(floats gently down from the sky, crashes down surrounded by flames and makes a soft ripple in the ground, vine grows from ground and she comes up with it before it wilts away, not sure about one for "calm")
Paper Mario: rolls from the side of the screen and unfolds.
Sonic: a blur which goes back and forth once before stopping on a dime(just thought of a victory pose for sonic: he looks out at the screen and wags his finger, ya' know that little taunty thing he has?)

Ok, now it's someone else's turn to contribute.

Lol bowsers entrace is perfect!!
haha ok let me c...

Ray 01 (custom robo): The robo cube falls, the number 3 apepars, then goes 3-2-1 then the cube explodes and ray 01 appears
Samus: Her entrance in 64 doesnt make much sense, so maybe she can jump off her ship? or something...
Bowser Jr: out of nowhere the M graffiti appears and bowser jr come stright out from the M
Ridley: U hear a dinousar like roar, then ridley arrives flapping its wings, lands and then does a menacing pose will doing a roar or something
Mii: The hand which u use to grab the Mii appears, drags the mii and places it on the stage, then the mii does a pose

Thats all I got for now...

XD

Not that the Mii is a bad idea or anything, but I seriously doubt the chances of a Mii making it into Brawl, as cool as your moveset was.

As for Samus, in Metroid Prime, when you restored from a save point, wasn't there a crazy lightshow with lazer beam-ish graphics tracing along Samus' armor? That's what I remember, and it sounds cool even if I'm remembering it wrong. Just show Samus standing there while being restored as the entrance.

Hm...

Dante: flares up his devil powers, briefly demonstrating his new appearance and aura before changing back to normal.
Waluigi: you see the second half of this animation. he rolls a bombomb from one hand, up his arm and behind his head to catch it with the other hand. then he raises it and laughs in his um...weird largh. in other words, you only see when it rolls from behind his head.
King Boo: materializes quickly and issues a screech, as if trying to startle or scare the player
G&W: you see nothing. then a thin line starts to appear as g-dub turns a full 90 degrees to face along the stage. in other words, a 2 dimensional being was standing sideways looking at you so you couldn't see him, then, when he turns to face the competition, you can see him? sounded cool to me.

And um...because I'm such a n00b, could someone please remind me what Link's animation was?:urg:

Thankies! Much appreciated.

Ooh, I think I remember now. This column of light surrounds you and Link floats slowly to the ground while drawing his sword, right? Strange, I just played against a Link several times in Smash 64 yesterday and I couldn't remember. I need more sleep.:dizzy:

Yes, I agree. It's kind of degrading to have Mewtwo be grouped together with normal poke'mon. However, I never saw the anime movie with Mewtwo, so I have no idea as to what it might be. If you had something in mind Stryks than that's cool. That entrance would be ok for, say, Bulbasaur or any other normal poke'mon they decide to add, just not fitting for Mewtwo.

I guess it would make sense, especially since Mewtwo is superior to other pokemon like Pikachu and jiggs. I don't think he should enter from a pokeball.

Just have Mewtwo enter in a Master Ball, duh...If they have all the Pokemon in the game enter from their balls they should be desinced depending on the player number. So, instead of all at once, it would go player one, four, three, then two. Or something.

For Meta Knight his sword would fall straight down from the sky followed by Meta Knight all curled up in a thin cylinder like he does and then drops down, grabs his sword, and opens his wings whilst slashing his sword.

Also, they're called bob-ombs, Rhyme. :/

Lol "Bomb-oms"

Hmm...For Mewtwo, have like a ball of energy crash into the ground, and Mewtwo appears froma curled up ball. Or something to that affect.

Are we talking about enterances? I liked those from Super Smash Bros. I was disappointed when they didn't have their own unique enterances in Melee, but maybe they will return in Brawl!

I hope no one else has mentioned these ones yet:

Meta Knight: He appears behind his cape, which was invicible before he moved it (reference to the first trailer)

Wario: Rides in on his motorcycle

Solid Snake: Sneaks in under a cardboard box, then reveals himself.

Other enterances:

Balloon Fighter: Floats in using his two balloons, then lands.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Runs in, then stops suddenly making his classic braking noise from the first Sonic the Hedgehod.

Diddy Kong: Like Donkey Kong, he busts out of a Barrel labeld "DK".

****IN' EXACTLY.

And I don't think having a Mii as a character is that far fetched of an idea.

I really like the idea of the pixelation of Zelda characters...and I think Paper Mario would be **** cool coming in from an airplane.

Alright, alright, alright...this is the wrong thread for this but it fits this thread's current tangent.

Paper Mario as a Mr. Game & Watch unlockable costume. How 'bout that?

The only reason I doubt Mii as a character is:

MII. A person designed by a creator who resides in the real world, meant as an icon for an individual who obviously can't be there in person. If Mii made it into Brawl, would it look like Sakurai? I don't know!

Hm...Paper Mario could enter as any one of his paper forms, each has an unfolding animation. A plane would be nice, so would the paper roll mentioned earlier, I don't think it matters so much.

Instead of regular Paper Mario? *sniffle*

If I'm a Mii. Where would you think?
I don't know about Mii's but how would the attack sets be! choosing clones or something! THat would be weird!

About SNAKE he's always coming out of ducts and vents, It would be cool if he came out of a vent or something that spawns with him!

It would be nice if Wario came down from the sky with his butt attack and then fart to brake the fall!!

Zero suit samus should do just like in the video! Probably shoot up into the sky and waste all the armour energy so it falls off!

It would be awesome if Link came out of a twilight gate!!! and Midna's hand threw him out of it!

About Paper mario!! i don't know! I never got the chance to play the game except at wal*mart!
He should be really weak against water! if he's made of paper!!

Later

how do you guys put pics on the bottom?
I've tried embeding but it doesn't work!
well let me try!

Snake should come out of a cardboard box. And then look around suspiciously.
Pit should fly down as a chorus sings. He takes his bow off his back and shoots an arrow into the sky.

SSB64 was good... but Melee took what it had and added to it. Much like Brawl will do to Melee.

Of course, Kirby's demise is the worst thing to come from Melee... I miss SSB64 Kirby :(

i know... all the characters got to many changes, the ones on yoshi, kirby, ness, and pikachu being the worst, IMO... i hope they get back to what they used to be.

^^

And Ness has been completely...y'know, balanced. And Jigglypuff was nerfed and buffed all at once.
You mean that Nintendo destroyed Jigg's old play-style and gave her a rockin' new one?

And honestly, I don't think they made to many changes to Pika, which leaves me puzzled as to how come he ended up so much worse.

Smash 64 was good, but limited. Not as fast paced, although most people argue that is what made Melee better, I tend to hover somewhere inbetween.

I've been recently getting into the online 64 scene. Very cool, very nice.

It helps your technical game a lot, actually, as precise timing is a must.

(off-topic)

[Edit:]

I actually have an idea of how we can move this thread forward. Here's the question, presented by Xsyven in another thread:

Why did they choose to unveil Fox in the last trailer? He's certainly not the most popular of Nintendo characters, nor is he the most expected. More people recognize and like Yoshi, for example. Xysven suggests that they did it to give a slight nod to the competitive Smash scene, us.

I think they showed Fox because the people who work on the game favor Fox over most other characters :D. I'm just kidding, by the way, though, that could be why =/. We'll probably never find out.

Maybe because Fox was overpowered, and they know how many people like him [including me, he was my main for years and SF rocks my socks]. I'm just guessing here because I'm bad at interpretation.

That's right we love yoshi!

off topic, but smash 64 immediatly made me awesome at melee when i switched over, perfect timing with yoshi ftw.

I think fox should be slowed down, because he shine is just unfair in the fact that all it is is a glitch that only he can use, also like samus's super wave dash, it is like using AR on melee against someone in smash 64 using jiggly (it was way weaker is 64 for those that dont know)

-_- The shine is not a glitch. It does exactly what the developer's had in mind for it to do, and nothing more (well, maybe the didn't expect the black hole..). Samus' Super WD, on the other hand, well, that's different.

no the shine isnt a glitch, its the down b move timed perfectly. And his speed is fine, why do you think he falls so fast?To make up for speed

It's in the manual so it's obviously not a glitch. And why should a fox be slowed down? He's not :bowser: or :dk:, he's small and light weight, it would be illogical to slow him down.

....he knows it's not a glitch. He was comparing it's unfairness to that of a glitch.

And Rhyme, why didn't they unveil Yoshi, then?

AND I LIKE SMASH 64 JIGGLY!

"Why Fox and not Yoshi?" you ask? Possibly because they had already showed us a stage which COULD only belong to the loveable dinosaur. Showing the Starfox level would have said to us Nintendo either decided to put in Fox, Falco, Krystal, or Wolf. I honestly don't have an answer, that's just the extent of validity the ideas have in my mind.
