I have a question for you. Did you enjoy Star Fox Adventures? Do you think that game is a good game in the series?

Yes I think its a great zelda game with dinosaurs having starfox characters randomly thrown into the mix, it was old rare's last good game. Most people hate it and blame it for the downfall of starfox even though its a good game.

This thread is for SSB discussion. Although my posts may be...insulting to you for some reason (?), they were all in regards to the topic of SSB characters.

I don't wanna sound mean but snake really doesn't belong in smash (even tho I want him back since he made it in the first place). Wolf is a Nintendo character who deserves to be in, him being cut says he wasn't important enough to be included and that can drive a fan crazy (also I want to see wolf in hd and I want him buffed)

My intention was not to harass; all I ever did was respond to posts made on here. I have not continued to "harass" this individual as they have not responded to my last post directed towards them. It's back-and-forth: discussion.

My entire point is that I believe it's ridiculous to discredit the entire game because one character is missing. That's an opposing opinion related to the topic of the thread.

I hope that there are in fact more characters left to be unlocked, but I could also see it staying as is. My thoughts on that are that Sakurai may want us to experience as many characters as possible right from the outset. There may be plenty of different reasons for this, one of them being an attempt to be more "open." Essentially, if Sakurai and Nintendo reveal nearly all the characters to us prior to the game's release, then the leakers can't beat them to the punch. They've technically already failed on that front, but I could see this as Sakurai employing this as a strategy to combat the internet and get ahead of the curve to avoid what happened with Brawl. It's more like 'here are these amazing characters. Have fun with them right away and enjoy yourself.' Obviously this ignores the fact that a lot of the fun and challenge in the game comes from seeing the "New Challenger Approaching" screen and unlocking them yourself.

That's just my take on things.

I hope & feel there may be more unlockable fighters as well. I however do not wish to neither see, accept, nor want the 48 slot roster remained locked. If the starting roster is at a huge 36 based from the Japanese Demo, & there's really only 12 slots left, then I am eggstremely satisfied not buying a 3DS only for Sm4sh,as that game aspect to 'enjoy all of this' does not appeal to me. I envision all of the right positives of opening up the roster that much from the start for whatever Sakurai's said reasons are. Yet my fancy is not tickled for Sm4sh. Hopefully 5mash will be better for me in the unlocking category.

I thought it was pretty cool (So it takes note from Zelda, big deal)! Then again, I thought the later games after 64 weren't so bad (Until Command arrived but I don't talk about that).

On the plus side, its quite convenient that I don't have to pause the game every time I want to switch items!

I do. I think the game refreshed the series with some new aspects and characters. There were certainly aspects of the game that I strictly did not like, but I enjoyed playing through it as a whole.

Yeah its stupid (as popular as they are for as long as the games are apart should say something for how awesome the series can be), I cant help that nintendo keeps fubleing the ball/throwing it out of bounds... It still confuses the hell out of me that nintendo doesnt know how to approach star fox as a series...

To this I will just assert how disrespected Pokemon Trainer is, and the fact that he is without a doubt one of Nintendo's biggest All Stars, yet he is considered such an obvious cut that people don't even list him on their cut list.

I will still be buying the game.

I do consider Red an all star but I dont like how sakurai approached the pokemon trainers design. It didnt feel like a team effort, everybody just used their favorite out of the three, there needed to be alot more strategy and depth involved if he was to be properly represented (hell I wanted blue to be added to the game.) Then there is also the fact that sakurai didnt reference red by name so my attachment was also less. (They could have given red a bit more character as well)


Also on Andross, its possible but IMO its even harder to represent him as a character than ridley. (like andross would be a thousand times harder to make work than ridley).

It would be ridiculous to assume Sakurai did not know the likelihood of a leak, given many factors, but predominantly the huge fandom of the game and the fact that there was a precedent for it in the last game.

What if he in fact leaked this roster, and Dark Pit and Dr Mario are actually Paper Mario and Medusa?

I love them both, and their series (obviously), but I don't think they're absolute necessities.

Villager makes an awful lot of sense for how big Animal Crossing has become, but to me, it's still comparatively new and smaller than Mario, Zelda, DK, Kirby, Pokemon, Star Fox, blah blah blah... Hence why I feel similarly about Olimar and Shulk. Perhaps, however, Animal Crossing IS that big, but perhaps I still have a stigma about customizable-appearing avatars as Nintendo All-Stars. I was more of a Tom Nook fan, so there may definitely be personal bias there. Even so, I don't think an Animal Crossing character in SSB is an absolute necessity.

Punch-Out is a small series that isn't overly popular internationally (specifically in Japan, where SSB is made). Although it is one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite Nintendo series, I don't think any series of it's size and lack of exposure is an absolute necessity.

I agree with with the exception of Little Mac and ROB. Little Mac has been around more then long enough to be considered an All Star in my eyes, and ROB's a big part of the reason the gaming industry was able to get back on it's feet.

It's not that I'm saying they're insignificant characters, or that they aren't Nintendo All-Stars, but I don't believe they are "necessities" when it comes to creating a crossover game. Of course, I'm glad there's the time, room, fan support, and developer interest to have them!

@ MagnesD3 I was not quoted to give you a reply, but as a spectator of watching the game my best friend played, it looked quite fun & the action / fighting / scenes were fairly decent. I liked Star Fox Adventures, even though it wasn't supposed to be a Star Fox game.

Also the term "Nintendo All-Stars" is baffling me, I may need explaining about the term so I don't use it incorrectly. I thought all of these characters were Super Smash Brothers / Sisters that are all proud Nintendo All-Stars?

If Nintendo All-Stars is a term used for the history & merit Nintendo characters have earned, then all of these characters are worth having as All-Stars including more.

I also forgot Lucario on my list.

Sure, sounds good! Lucario is my best friend's main, so I'm pretty used to fighting him.

Of course Lucario is a deserving Pokemon, but I don't think he's on the same level as Pikachu or Charizard.
