[collapse=BotW 3 Summary]In our third BotW, the Poké Center veteran UltiMario is pitted against the newer Roacherman in the NU tier. UltiMario, a jack of all trades, seemed to have the advantage over the experienced spriter.

The match started with Roacherman’s Persian threatening to nerf UltiMario’s Typhlosion’s Eruption like Sakurai nerfed Fox. UltiMario wisely switched to his Gligar to absorb the Fake Out. Persian’s first Hypnosis missed, while Gligar set up Stealth Rock, especially important in a tier full of Fire- and Bug-type Pokémon. Persian’s second Hypnosis put Gligar to sleep, and Persian proceeded to assault it with Technician-boosted Bites. Gligar, taking 14% damage each hit, was able to wake up and Roost off the damage. Gligar stripped off half of Persian’s HP with Earthquake, and was promptly put to sleep by another Hypnosis. The next time it woke, Gligar hit Persian with Toxic, dealing residual damage. A few turns later, and Persian fell.

Roacherman’s switch-in, Espeon, threatened Gligar, whether it held Choice Specs, a Choice Scarf, or was a boosting Calm Mind sweeper. Gligar was OHKOed by Psychic; lack of Life Orb recoil or Leftovers recovery meant the only possibilities were Scarf and Specs. UltiMario’s Typhlosion returned. Which Pokémon, if any, was Scarfed? Typhlosion outsped and OHKOed with Eruption. Espeon had been carrying Choice Specs; Typhlosion reveals a Choice Scarf. Roacherman’s Slowking, one of the strongest special walls in the tier, threatened to OHKO Typhlosion with Surf and take little damage from Eruption. UltiMario revealed his Water Absorb Quagsire, taking advantage of the predictable Water-type attack. Quagsire was OHKOed by a super-effective Grass Knot, but not before Yawning at Slowking.

UltiMario sent out his Choice Scarf Medicham, who OHKOed Slowking with Thunderpunch. Roacherman’s Sandslash forced Medicham out, but UltiMario’s Charizard laughed at the incoming Earthquake. Charizard OHKOed with Fire Blast, and in came Roacherman’s Relicanth. Head Smash missed as UltiMario switched to Medicham, but it would not have OHKOed it. Medicham proceeded to finish off Roacherman with Brick Break, hitting Relicanth and the unrevealed Regice super-effectively, giving UltiMario a 4-0 win.[/collapse]

The true factor is why is Persian running Bite in the first place when it could run Return? I find running Silk Scarf Return is much better, considering the majority of the things you'll be hitting in NU take neutral damage from Return anyway (which is actually more powerful than a super-effective hit from Bite, due to STAB + Silk Scarf). I don't know, that's what I run. People get scared ****less too when they see some of their sweepers getting straight-up ***** by a 'weak' cat abusing Return.

And due to the server being down so freaking much, I didn't have access to week one so I could finish. It'll be finished tomorrow morning guaranteed though. I think better in the early morning as it is, so it'll be for the better.
