Greetings, one and everyone.
I have recently been smashing with a good Mario user and found a few tips
to help get a good share of wins in. I have a decent list of moves I use that
are quite affective.
1: Psi (Wrong Way) magnet:
All good Mario users shoot fireballs while moving forward
to get close to you, Use Lucas' Psi Magnet facing the other way
the Fireballs are coming from. Mario will run toward you thinking
you did it in the wrong way on accident. When the fireball touches
Lucas' back he will turn the right way automaticly and Mario should
run into Lucas' Magnet, release the Magnet and that should deal
a decent amount of damage.
Lucas' Air A barrage:
This one is pretty well known. Short hop and press A for Lucas to
attack rapidly on the enemy, keep pressing a if you've got them
trapped and the last of the attack should send them away quite a
bit.
Reflecting Projectiles
I'm not sure how well known this is, but I just found out that Lucas'
Side Smash (Using his stick) can deflect Mario's fireballs. This is a good
Tactic to use when you have 0% damage because the Psi Magnet would
heal nothing and leaves an opening for your enemy. I'm not sure if Lucas'
stick can deflect anything else, I just know that he can deflect
fireballs.
PK Freeze Combo
When your enemy's % is quite low (Under 15% works for me) use
PK Freeze, while your enemy is in an Icicle quickly use Lucas' Needle
attack (Up Smash) this can cause a lot of damage quickly if done with
right timing. You don't want to use it all the time or the Enemy will
catch on very quickly. Also it's quite a risky move to do because if your
enemy breaks through the ice you leave yourself open for an attack
while Lucas is using his Needle attack.
Unexpected Needles
A good surprise attack is to use Lucas' Needle attack (Smash Up) while
running, when you run it looks as if Lucas is unable to use his Needles
without stopping first. This is a great surprise attack that I have used
to take many lives!
I hope these techniques helped you at least a little bit. I'm not sure
if all of these moves have been talked about before, if so I'm sorry.
It just seemed that there were a lot of Lucas users on these forums
an not nearly enough guides.
