I'm using BrawlBox v0.63d and when I try going to SD Card>projectm>pf>menu2>sc_selcharacter it says unable to recognize input file. I'm trying to change a character selection screen portrait. Oh and, this never happened before, so I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions? :/

I tried both, I rename the files to the skin I want, for example "FitSonic00" or .pcs I rename it to "FitSonic01" or .pcs I replace the files, but the model doesn't change from the previous one. I sometimes use BrawlCostumeManager as well.
